okay okay okay, i know ive posted m1 carbine paratrooper, and m14 to m1 conversion, but is it possible to convert a m1 gas carbine in a semi auto gas/eletric, either one. I like the m1 and i was gonna change it into the paratrooper style, but i remember that you have to cock it after every shot, i just wanna know if it is possible to do it for less than like 100 or 200 bucks, please give me your idea's, its that, or the m1 gas powered with cool ejecting clip since the AEG custom doesnt do that
Sincerely, 101stEasyKid

The space available in a carbine body just doesn't afford much room for an AEG mech box and shape. I understand that a Marui MP-7 arrangement would probably work but of course they aren't very powerful (probably realistic since you're talking about a carbine) Unfortunately not a conversion you're likely to do for under 300 dollars on top of your carbine expense and it would clearly require a great deal of time and expertise.
The Marushin Garand clip design is clever and very very cool in operation but for 99% of all airsoft player absolutely unworkable as a skirmish weapon. Maybe I'm just a Guy on a short bus but I never could get skilled enough to seamlessly change clips and reload during field play to make it work well enough to be competitive during an actual game. It was hard enough in back yard plinking and always seemed to present delays and challenges.
It looks cool and is very impressive when it works but it's just not a gamer. I know that's self serving since I make the garand AEG conversion kits and I truly wish it wasn't true since I had extremely high hopes for the Marushin Garand GBB but all it did for me was dissapoint and literally force me to do the conversion and sell them as kits for others.
The shortened clips in my AEG conversion hold 12 to 14 rounds which kind of fits in with most AEG low capacity weapons and makes sense to roughly double the real steel capacity since fire power and brush penetration is obviously retricted. The clips fit nicely in the garand pouch ammo belt which is nice touch and look fairly decent in the gun without being too much of a visual distraction.

That's okay. The discussion and additional details help other forum members debate in their own mind what makes sense for them and when it comes to gun selection it's always a highly personal thing. Anyones opinion about what gun is better or which gun another should select should always be taken with a grain of salt since it's not their money and it's not their itch being scratched.
Generally on this forum people are pretty careful not to flame anyone and input is typically submitted with sincerity and the best of intentions. I like that, because it really helps people investigate alternatives and get candid input without fear of the response they might get for the questions they ask.
