I have a two part question. I just got a used m1 carbine and I was wondering if there is a good take down guide. It seems some of the screws are loose and needs tightening and I figured I'd also tighten up any internal ones that needed it. Actually the upper handguard is prett loose at the rear, and I believe the reciever is also. It has a lot of wiggle anyway.
The second question is more serious. The outer barrel is loose, maybe broken. Has anyone else had this problem, and what is the fix for it.
Thanx
EDIT
Upon closer inspection I noticed that my carbine doesn't have a hole at the rear of the handguard. I read this is wear you access the hop-up. Is there supposed to be a screw to tighten the handguard anywear?
Thax again

Does anyone have any advice they would be willing to give? I am getting pretty desperate.

the only spot the handguard is clamped down at is at the barrel band at the front.so it has a real tendancy to get loose.i put a couple of pieces fo duct tape on the inside channel to make it fit a good bit tighter with the band tightened up.as for the hop up...the hole for it is very small but at the front of barrel where the bolt closes tight to it. just above the breech is a small cutout that has the allen screw set into it for the hop up..
