I'm not sure this is the right place for this but what chronograph would the group recommend for testing small quantities of guns. I'm interested in the performance of guns I buy and how well they are doing against the gnomes and their hated beer can allies.

I got the cheapest one I could buy and I have been happy with it. It falters in low light and seems to eat batteries but I've been happy with it. Indoors you need to have bright bright lights focused in the beam. It's the little red box that folds open and comes with wing frames that I've never used. I'll try to find the brand name if you'd like but it's the real common one. There are lazer ones and several new options around with a wide variety of prices.
A chrono is absolutely a worthwhile piece of equipment for anyone with an arsenal of airsoft weapons especially those who alter or upgrade their guns. Most especially anyone with a high powered gun they intend to skirmish with. I get furious with these snot nosed little dweebs who come to events with this "Narly upgraded bolt action sniper weapon" and have no idea what it actually shoots or the mechanics of heavier weight BBs. (Joules and effects on flesh!) "You're gun is way too hot..." "What do you mean? You mean I cant use it?" "No", "Why not I sepnt like a thousand dollars on it?" Would you want to get shot by it?" "Hell no, but I'm not planning to shoot myself!"

I bought a red flip-open shooting chronograph by "Chrony" way back in 1991. It still works and we continue to use it at the field. We have bought it's updated counterpart: www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=531741The wings included with the chrono dull-down direct sunlight. I made a couple chronograph boxes which not only allow the chronograph to work in all light conditions - but most importantly protect the chronograph from being shot. This box I made so it can be shot indoors and the used bb's collected in a box underneath. www.tau-hq.com/viewtopic.php?t=48///ed///
