hi
im looking to get an M1A1 Para carbine stock and then looking to turn it into an AEG with either the new Vz61 scorpion, TM MP7 or an AEP pistol gearbox. But to do this i need some dimensions.
i will need:
the depth of the main body of the stock, the width of the main body of the stock, the depth from top to bottom of the forgrip and body of the stock
and any others that would come in handy.
Also any pictures comments or suggestion are welcomed by all means !
thanks spoon

i wouldnt suggest using an aep gearbox. i think either 2nd bat or shmitty (probably shmitty, he's done them all) attemped with an aeg carbine. search throught the posts and see if you can find the post. just remember the regular pattern with custom guns. they're very very hard to complete or do right.

The MP7 gearbox is still to tall for a M1 Carbine, your best shot might be with the AEP gearbox but then it will be way underpowered.

I just got a new M1A1 stock the other day so I could measure and then PM you the info. Or you could drop $180 for one at Cheaperthandirt.com but who would want to do that?

Gosh let us know how it goes. You can get any dimension for any gun online. Carbine stocks are readily available on Ebay and as pointed out the Para kit is available. I know Schmitty tried a regular carbine but maybe the para version with the pistol grip might be a different story. It'd sure be a nice addition in an AEG!

can you probably make some detailsphotos of the fold Mechanism of the Stock, an explain how the Stock is locked in folded and unfolded position? ....please...?
Mfg A.W.
btw i remember a Photo of a Garand with foldstock ( m1e5 or so) has anyone got a Photo of this one? And, no, i don´t mean the BM59 stock. ;D

yea if you could get some pictures on showing the handle aswell so i can see what im up against because i dont want to fork out a load of money if i cant do it ... and i dont care if it is underpowerd too much it would be my back up and plus it looks bloody cool! so some pictures of the handle and the stock in general would be cool and some measurments as well

There is a thread (in this forum) submitted by Guinness on his conversion of a Marushin carbine into a para stock configuration. There are lots of pictures and additional information from Schmitty that should prove quite helpful with your project.
