Hey guys, I'm some what good at takeing things apart. But fixing things that arnt ment to brake is hard for me. As you all know on the tanaka Luger the troggle sits on a metal sleve that houses a sping that returns the gas chamber after a round is fired. My spring has worn out. And is sticking to the barrel assembly when the troggle is lifted (when cocking or after each round is fired). I have no idea how to remove the spring sence the sleve and chamber are solid assembly.
Any ideas?
Regards, RB

Im not sure which spring your takling about, but
if your talking about the spring that goes around the barrel...
its glued!, I found this out because it's not glued that strongly and one day while firing my luger the barrel flew off!!!!!
Think you need to work at it, try not to dammage the gun. Otherwise coudl you scan your manu8al andd show me which part you are talking about?

I figured since this thread has been dead for about a week I'd chime in with my problems So far my Tanaka luger has had it's inner barrel fly out while shooting (WTF?) and it just happened 5 minutes ago so I have yet to determine a solution. I took it apart and it seems that what was previously holding the inner barrel in is not working anymore. I have yet to deterine what part. Also... it may be because I'm using green gas, I don't know... the slide never, EVER locks back when it has depleted its rounds. I took it apart once again and the slide catch has appeared to CUT a groove into the metal of the bolt underneath, preventing it from catching on onto the magazine catch anymore. Even when I managed to get it locked back and then take out the magazine, the bolt flies back forward into the closed position. It's smurfED. Any help would be appreciated... I can't be the only guy with this problem with their luger. Seems like I wasted $200... I mean it's a beautiful gun (especially the midnight finish I got with mine) but what's the freakin' point if I can't USE THE THING! If you need pics let me know. Christ this thing should have it's own help forum...

Green gas is garunteed to destroy the luger, the parts that didnt break yet have heavy wear. Ive own 4 lugers, my very first one I used green gas just a wee bit, and its was ruined, barely functions compared to my other 3.
Otherwise I think lugers are very dependable, I found the togglle only locks back after atleast 7 or 8 bbs have been fired, if you just put one or 2 in it will not lock, nor will it lock if you just use gas. Dont use green gas!

Hmm, I guess I'm screwed then, cause I've been using nothing but green gas in this thing.
Any way to somehow upgrade it that it will TAKE green gas? Maybe a stronger recoil spring or something?
I mean there has to be a way to fix it so it won't break so fast. I've already glued on the barrel, re-enforced the inner barrel, and a couple other things. I just can't get it to lock back.
Sometimes it will also fail to feed, I'm thinking this is because the toggle mechanism moves too fast for the BB to be fed in time. I'm betting a stronger recoil spring will take care of that problem.
I just need to figure out now how to fix the toggle catch, and then I think it will take GG no problem...
I'll let you know how it works out. It's shame these things are so fragile. Mine came with the grips loose and both barrels loose. It's a nice gun but should be at least $100 cheaper.
