I am going to order a repro grip set, and make sure they fit properly. My grip handle is just an approximation based on some clever photo analysis by a buddy of mine. We will re-design the handle, and update all customers when this happens. We have no plans to include the grip scales on guns, this will be up to the customer for now. We may produce our own grip scales in the future. Assembly drawings are finally trickling out of the art dept., and are being posted on the site as they are completed. We are wide open to suggestions! www.air-sharp.com/ifu.htmlThe M14 conversion is next, I am just deciding which one to order. The M14 presents some interesting possibilities. Hopefully, just dropping the stock away will allow a seamless conversion. I was looking for an excuse to take another gun off my taxes next year...

So are you going to be making AEG Garands from the M-14?

I am planning a M14 conversion for the Browning 1919A4. This should be the simplest one yet.

Are you saying that there isn't an M1 Garand airsoft on the market? Amazing. That's a no-brainer for success...

The M-14 mech box as a base gun for the 30 Cal should work well if it fits okay It is more powerful and has a better hop up setup to begin with. I have a source for the stand alone gear boxes for under $50.00.

I'll need the barrel/hopup also. With the whole gun going for $119 at Airsoft1.com, it will be hard to beat going the whole-gun route. On these, I think I will be able to re-cycle the stocks into custom-painted ones and re-sell them to offset costs. The M14 is well-represented in match shooting, this is where most gun painting (at least the dazzling stuff) is happening. For now. Just look at what happened to computers. That same personalization and "bling" is coming to guns, like it or not. Seen a new paintball gun?

well there isnt a big company that produces the M1 Garand but our very own 2ndBat does custom made Garands from the M-14 that are just outstanding, if anyone was to produce the Garand we all know how high the bar has been set by 2ndbat for a Garand.

Price?
I'd like to see a "mainstream" (under $250) Garand. Maybe they can do this in time?

I think his Garands are selling for $500 but there are different prices for different manufactures M-14s that are used for the base gun. 2ndbat can tell you more than I can.
Maybe you should look into trying to make a streamlined commercailly availabe Garand to go with the 30cal.

Only with 'Bat's blessing. I have my hands full. I was gently suggesting that HE do this... $500 is not too much to pay for what he sells. I'd spend more doing one up custom. Ironic that the Garand is "exotic" in our world here.

I'd love it if there was some way to bring the price point down to less then it is but it just doesn't make sense given the volume I do and the capacity for gathering all the parts and time it takes to build each one.
Marui would never compromise the action to accept a bottom feeding Garand so hence my prediction is they'll never make one. They're too anal to do that. You gotta admire their obsessive attention to detail but sometimes it hurts us. The Chinese are our only prayer and they probably think it's too limited of a market. If their Thompson comes out and does well they might change their minds.

Good points all. Yes, most of the Garand's core audience are currently feeding Oligochaeta, and their animate contemporaries have less sight distance left than a $19 Uzi. So it is fitting, that those in the know would be a niche market. The 1919A sees a similar phenomena at the present, -I have a few decades left, I think. Good thing we have an M2 in the wings. It would be nice if somebody successfully marketed a $500-level 1919A, but a similar demand situation exists... We're looking to actually create a demand by making a familiar gun slhouette easily affordable. More assembly drawings hit the site by morning, some revision/additions also.

I would like to see some airsoft guns in a very affordable price range. Thats what i want mainly. An 1919 in the 150-350 price range would be sweet.

We don't even see m249's that cheap, even though they are pretty popular

In high resolution at the site. The barrel drawing/detail is nearly ready.
