Hey guys, just got an AMG mp40 im pretty impressed so far i was going to get some spare parts ready for when she breaks down. the only thing i can't seem to place is the air nozzle is it an ak-47 style? the gear box should just use any V3 parts right? any info would be great thanks

Air nozzle is an AUG item IIRC.

This gun represents a new thing: The low-priced, slapped-together, NEEDS upgrading, loose screws everywhere, assembled with genuine slave wage contempt, get-it-in-your-hands easily Chinese gun. Don't just put one into use, look it over internally first, mine had loose motor and gearbox screws. This gun NEEDS you to survive very long. My guess is a lot of folks have a passion for the things already. Low-priced, minimally-servicable products have a way of growing on ya, if they're all you can afford. Like the Lada, or the VW Bug, or the Yamaha Twins from the late Seventies...
I love it.
I will run mine til it drops and replace it, rather than spend the time tearing in to "fix" anything. Everybody knows a gearbox job is three hours if you're GOOD at it. Like a Bic lighter, AEG's are becoming "disposable" when worn. Now upgrading, and building silly-powerful MP40's or Browning replicas is another thing. That's not repair, that's fun. Fun hopefully lasts five hours, if you're good at it.

hi! anybody tries to use airnozzle of AUG into MP40? because augsnozzle is cca 0,5mm longer than agmsnnozzle. is there any feeding problem? (with using AUGsnozzle and AGMsHopup chamber) thanks

I just put some parts into my MP-40 last night. Tried the AUG nozzle (as I had read would work) but it did NOT feed....too long. Not a real biggie that a few moments with the sanding drum on the Dremel couldn't fix. But you are correct that the AUG nozzle is too long.
Just for the record, I put Systema M120 spring, Area 1000 aluminum piston head and cyl head, tappet plate, spring guide w/bearing and metal bushings into the gun. Shoots great now! And seems to be a bit more accurate too.
Stock motor and gears pull the spring fine....albeit a tad slower than stock. But, the increased velocity makes it shoot a lot better. Stock it would dent and sometimes tear an aluminum can but now it shoots through both sides most shots.

I'm taking notes! Maybe when mine does drop, it will get some goodies after all. Nice work!

Update: Just crossed the 1K round mark to settle the spring and ran 10 across my Pact Model 1 chrono. From 3 feet: High-373.1 Low-356.6 Ave-362.8fps This is with Airsplat .20's.
As a comparison, I ran my AE MP5 SD5 too and it went: High-395.1 Low-389.4 Ave-392.6fps Of course, with the same ammo.
I didn't mess with the HopUp on either gun and left them where they shoot long and straight. Might have gotten a few more fps with them turned off but, we don't shoot them like that..do we?
So, I have to say I'm berry happy with the MP-40's mods. Motor/gearbox is quiet and seems totally happy putting out this level of velocity. Rate of fire is right on 500 rpm....which puts it into the Very Realistic Range. Happiness!
The stock 1100mah battery seems good for close to 1000 shots if you don't crowd it too badly too fast. After 650, the discharger said it still had 480mah left. And, three 50 rounders each dumped with a single trigger pull as quickly as I can makes the battery and motor a bit warm, but not enough to be a problem. Got to love this gun!

RecoilRob- Thanks for the update. Great job testing with the chrono. Thats something not done by alot of people. I am going to be putting a V3 spring guide in with bearings, so that should in theory get me into the the 350fps range. That is what my G36 is consistantly firing with a M100 in it. The bearing on the spring guide usually adds about a 1/2" of precompression. I am going to go for sheer speed when firing, thus the highspeed motor and gears as well. Once my upgrades arrive and I put my gun back together Ill of course post my chrono results.

Another update:
Got to wondering just HOW much the HopUp is affecting the velocities so I ran another string (this time 20 shots) with Hop Off: High-384.0 Low-367.1 Average-372.1fps Again with .20 ammo.
SO, it looks like the Hop is taking 9.3fps ave, and 11-11.5 on max and mins. Not a bad tradeoff for the improved range afforded by the HopUp. Still have to love the Mp-40!
