Just pondering over this one.
Would making a De lisle carbine or an L42A1 basedon VSR10 actions be totally out of the question?
cheers

It would bea very very difficult conversion as the Enfield stock is two pieces which are held together by the receiver. So unless you have a real Enfield that you are willing to cut up, you are probably out of luck.

Well an idea i had was to get my hands on a full enfield wood kit. Then with that i could work out how it all fits, and make a wooden stock out of one piece of wood. Much like the original VSR10 stock, if you follow my drift.

go for it lance, I dont know much that'll help about doing an enfield conversion but i'd suggest looking at some of the other rifle conversion threads to get more general info.

There are replica Lee Enfields available on the net for around £100 that could be butchered to make an airsoft version. I've been strongly considering making one myself, but I didn't realise that the stock was in two pieces until now. It'll definitely make things a lot more complicated.

if you are making your own stock it would be easier....you could keep it one piece ,just replicate the metal reciever band that the stock parts go into on the outside of the stock.that has been the main thing keeping alot of folks from making one.i just don't think that using a real steel stock set is going to work on this....

I own a .303 Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.1 and after reading this and then looking at it, making the hammer like the real one would be propally the hardest part, and thats only a luxory

The stock is actually a 3 piece stock; buttstock, forearrm and handguard. However the U.S. made a M1917 abd the British made the P14 which looked very much like the SMLE but were full stock with handguard. A friend gave me one of the stocks, one of three he picked up for next to nothing at a surplus place. I would look around to see if any of them are still around I think they would be a good starting point for an Enfield
