I have seen aluminum cast replicas of both US and German pistols. They are like 15 bux. They also have metal castings of kar98 metal hardware of course it dosent work, but it is like 60. But the plase that sells them are located here in Poland so shipping would kill ya.

well I must do my civic duty to help out a fellow massachusetts citizen. the 1911A1's approximate measurements are 7 7/16"th's (front to rear of slide), 15/16"th's (top to bottom of slide), 9/16"(top to bottom of frame), 1 14/16" (end of trigger gaurd groove to front of trigger gaurd), 1 1/16 (top to bottom of trigger gaurd) 2 5/16" (front to back of hand grip(not just wood panels)), 4 4/16" (top to bottom of hand grip(not just wood panels)). these should be suffecient enough to make a wood model. PM me if you need further clarification. I have 2 questions though, where are you in massachusetts and why is there no cutz compensator on the barrel of that thompson?

The cutts compensator was a factory option on the 1928. ($28.00) I have an original Civilian owners manual that broke down the various options. Incidently the gun itself was $275.00 which in the 20s was a huge amount of money. The average car was about $700.00. Todays average car by comparison is $28,000 dollars so the equivalent would be about 12,000.00. There's a reason only goverments the military and gangsters owned them.
