I have a new idea for an allied airsoft grenade. Just here me out. It is simple, very inexpensive and really easy to reload on the field. They wont look the greatest but will be completly worth it. You take a plastic easter egg, the kind that splits in half. Now you make a stopper in the top egg across the seam, then to the bottom half you put in a spring and a tray for the spring to rest underneath. You pour the bbs on the bottom tray and close the egg, holding the bbs inside and compressing the spring. When the grenade is thrown and breaks open, the spring releases showering bbs everywhere. Try to visualize for now, I'll post pictures later. Im gonna try it tonight.

What keeps the spring presure from popping it open as soon as you throw it? Do you plan on taping the seam or something?

The seam would have a very slight amount of tape on it, and when it hits the ground, it sould be enough force to pop it open. The same can be done with a stick grenade, it might be a little harder to make. Ill try that soon also. And, so you dont lose one of the halfs, tape a string from one point to other.

IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!!!!!!
I tried it yesterday evening and this puppy sprays the bbs about 5-8 feet out of the egg. I tweaked the desighn a few times and I can safley say it WORKS! Ill get some pictures up later.

what if while you are carrying it, you stumble, or brush it hard enough and it pops open? that'd be a sucky elimination. cool idea though.

lol good thought spitfire, probably just put a little tape on it before using it to make sure it wont go off when you don't want it to.

There so easy to load in the field that you wouldnt carry them loaded. Ive used it in a game and tagged 2 people out at once. Youll all have to use whatever you find as I used odd pieces from broken guns.

with the issue of calling hits. Do the bb's impact with enough force that the victim feels it?

Due to the loud noise and blast radius it creates....you would know if you were hit. It could be a tad more powerful but the egg would never close. Although unless its one of the bbs that go about 15 feet due to there position on the spring, it would be a little hard to tell though.

What happens if it lands upside down? The springs won't do anything to the bb's. Wont the bb's only shoot in one direction instead of spreading out? I like the idea for backyard airsoft, but i cant see myself using that in any other situation.

Due to the shape of the egg it ALWAYS lands on its side, the bbs will spray in one particular direction but others will reach the other side. lol, its not the greatest but it definatly gets the job done.
