My Brand New M1917 Eddystone Enfield

Alright here are the pics I promised, I do not belive the reciver was damaged just the barrel, but I could be wrong. Take a look.

The Bolt assembly with the sight up, down, the fireing pin ready to fire and in the not ready to fire. The bolt open and closed.





















The last two pics above show the part of the gun that was deactivated, luckly when they drilled out the gun the missed the reciver my centimeters ( the line for the reciver is just behind the hole) and drilled into the very back of the barrel, thus I have a working reciver and bolt, I simply have to replace the barrel to fire a live round or keep as is and I will be able to fire blanks. Now I am lead to belive that this is not a WW2 arsenal modifyed rifle but an original unmodifyed WW1 build. The weapon does not have a Johnson Automatics stamp on it which would imply it was re barreled to 3006 in WW2. But since it was set aside for Drill Purpose which means it has not been fired since WW1 means it is barreled for the 3003 round common to WW1. I have inhert 3006 rnds and the 3006 rnd will not fit in the barrel which means it is too big So in short I have an unmodifyed (besides the drilled hole) WW1 build EddyStone Enfield yay!

OK, this means you definately should NOT convert it to an airsoft rifle .

Actually I when I took it appart, I found that to do a conventional conversion with a VSR-10 would be impossible becuase of the huge, and heavy one piece sight, recvier assembly, everything is practically one pice, also there is quite enough room to attempt a schmitty Kar-98 style conversion. But seeing as this is a WW1 3003 caliber Eddystone I will never convert it and maybe not even use it for blank reenacting. Infact I dont even know ehere to get 3003 blanks at.

WOW I just found out some really great news, this version that I have is also known as the P-14 Eddystone Enfield it was the very first version of the Eddystone to be produced, and because mine is the P-14 version it takes the .303 british rifle ammunition which means that this version is even more valuable than the rebarreld version made for the US becuase it is in its truest sense and original unaltered WW1 produced Eddystone rifle. Thsi would also explain why I couldnt fit my 30.06 round in it.
