There's an M14 Scout, but to my knowledge there's no full spring M14. But to answer your question, I don't see why you couldn't just make a spring M1 Garand. I'm anxious now to try it. Thanks alot guitarmaster! ;D EDIT_______________________________________________ Found one! shortyusa.com/index.html?RID=4328 Maybe I'll try it out....

You're going to have to get an M1 stock for it to convert it, but still...

I don't think you should do it, then again it's your money and, who knows, it might turn out fine, but probably not great.

I looked into doing this a while ago and after inspecting my buddy's spring m14, it wont work, in order to do it properly, while keeping durability and performance in mind, it isnt worth it and will turn out looking kinda..........Flaggrantly Wrong............the gun is cheap anyway, and it is pretty much a solid peice. If only China would make one, all our troubles would melt away. ;

The parts are quite expensive but if you build it yourself you can do so for $400.00 to $500.00 maybe less if you get lucky on components.

Maybe in the future, right now (since m1 carbines are impossible to find) i'll just have to settle for a thompson.

Wow Very impressive! I still wonder though, the price of the Chicom M14's is pretty reasonable, even for the 'Lawn-Mowing' and 'Allowance-saving' set among us

They are, and have been, sold out for ages. I think it is safe to say that marushin discountinued the m1 carbine, and most, if not all, stores are out of stock.

but please 120$ for an M14 Honest to god man, I don't know what your beef is... The m14 is $120...At a good price, and then add the extra $250-$500 on converting it to an M1 Garand. To some of us, that price just isn't convenient. I guarantee you that there are more than enough people on this board that do not have the time and money to sacrifice on such a pricey airsoft gun, this is a hobby after all, lots of us can't lay down huge amounts of cash for something that they possibly do once or twice a month. Not at all saying that I wouldn't absolutely love to see all M1's on an airsoft field, I love doing airsoft and reenacting as much as the next guy, but it just won't happen until we see a cost-friendly alternative. And until then, I'd much rather see Thompson's in use than burlap-wrapped M14's and MP-5's. I'll get off my soap box now.

No please stay on Mauser, it gets quite entertaining. Yes we all cant afford an m1 or make one ourselves, but I bet we all wish we could. If someone thinks the new m1a1 is their only real option, then well.....thats their only real option. Hopefully that day will come when there are more m1's than thompsons (I can wait a little, I already have an aeg garand) but until then we'll just have to make do.

I didn't want to be mean, when commenting on ASR, but here i'll just say DJ put forth a good effort, but i still think its ineffective, and really not all that much better than showing up with an m14

Well let's just add that the terms "Tanker Garand" and "Historical Inaccuracies" go hand in hand since the weapon only existed as a way to sell war surplus M1's and was never a USGI issued firearm. Let's not get Gordak started on this topic shall we? Yes, DJ Mike Oz made an interesting piece there, but he may as well called it a "DJ Mike OZ Garand" for as 'realistic' weapon as it is. And that is no slight to his abilities, it simply isn't a weapon that was used by any military force...ever...period...end of story. I think that about covers it ;D

Yes...but you can only be so lucky to find a parts and real stock kit for $85. I say, if you cant afford it at the moment, go with the CYMA even TM Thompson. Or maybe try a springfield conversion. What ever you gotta do to get in the field.

yea, i commented on the m14 ""tanker" garand" a lot softer than I would on here, just because I dont want to nitpick the details to those on there who cant pick them out and bash DJ jazzy jeff's or whomever's good work. The one thing that i'm really interested in is the shortened magazing he uses. I'd love to make one for my garand, simply because its more flush than the shortened mags 2nd bat designed.

Well, at least my post wasn't entirely useless. I was going to take the inernals from the new CYMA M14 and put them into the M1 stock I found at Mickey's Surplus. Then use the mag conversion he did to make it more accurate. And to keep it out of full auto, all I've got t do is lock it into Semi, using whatever means I have at my disposal.

Or maybe try a springfield conversion. Franz Trust me a Springfield conversion is way more expensive to do than a Garand conversion. I personally would rather see M-14s than more Thompsons, becuase at least it is a rifle and not another SMG. But thats just me.....I mean hell, it makes for a good BAR substitute ;D TommyGunner
