Hi Guys, I know this is not ww2 related but any help would be gratefully received. I want to strip down the cylinder of my Tanaka S&W revolver, but cannot unscrew the front ejector rod/spindle from the cylinder. It is mega tight. I wonder if it has a left hand thread or maybe it`s loctited in. ?? Any one have the answer. ? flatrajectory.

if it's left hand, then turn it the right way. If you give it a good amount of effort (shouldnt take too much for a small screw), then dont srip everything, it is probably loctited in. Thats all the advice I can really give.

Guinness, thanks for that. Exploded diagram in the manual shows this rod to be threaded, but I have tried turning it both ways with moderate force and it wont budge. Maybe you are correct and it has been modified to be fixed.?? Cheers, flatrajectory

yeah, I think the more recent version of the Colt .45 'western' pistols have removable cylinders, but I haven't seen that on the S&Ws as yet.
