This is a work in progress. At its current stage, this conversion is SOOOO quick-and-dirty that I'm almost embarassed to show it to you all, but since we'll be using it at our skirmish this weekend.... I started with a Chinese M733-F I bought this summer on sale at www.airsoftbattlezone.com for $120, grafted a 1" aluminum pipe onto the barrel, clamped an ABS shroud over that, snubbed the front sight, chopped and filled on the receiver to make it more boxy-looking, and cannibalized an old lawn chair to make the bipod. Viola, it's the kinda-sorta MG13! I know, I know, it doesn't feed from the left side...yet. But everything you see on it I was able to complete over the course of a single Sunday. Hey, it works fine as it is. Makes a great booming "Poonk!" noise when it's fired. Maybe I'll rework it into something more respectable after the housing runs are finished.

What is the fps and the magazine capacity. I had to google the mg13 to find out that this is a post WWI lmg that the Germans used until the 34's arrived. Late war they were pulled from storage and utilized by second line troops. Very good job, and like usual, thrifty. I like the looks so far. Are you going to mod it further?

I'm more interested in what the MG is sitting on. Hmmm?? It looks like some kind of secret weapon that might be driving. What could it be?

That, dear Jack, is a derelict PUG (PanzerUltraleichtGepack.) I was once infamous in the scenario paintball community for promoting the use of human-powered armor "vehicles" built from Coroplast, even went so far as to author and illustrate a "how-to" PUG Building Guide. Aye, 'tis a tedious tale....
But back to the MG13. They were converted Dreyse antiaircraft guns, and were actually pretty common among second-line German troops and Russian partisans. The Russians bought a bunch from the Germans before the war. The Panzer I mounted an MG13. I built mine with Volkssturm and partisan impressions in mind.
Jack2, I hope to make a more correct folding stock and bipod when I have more leisure, make wood grips, replace the battery housing, and convert it to side feed eventually (if I have the courage.) Last I chrono-ed the base gun, it shot around 370fps with .20s. We'll toy with it this weekend and see if it's worth upgrading the internals.

Well, that is the first of the pictures, and I took a few today , and ill have to load em, but I really REALLY modified it, so it now actually looks like a MG 15. I simplified the reciever, and the magazine catch, and the Spider sight and everything. Ill post pics later tonight

Gryphon, did you get the idea from this? brpguns.com/xmg.htm. Migmadmavis-What are you using for the MG 15? PVC or metal? Looking good. wheres the motor and gear box and what type is it? For an Mg15 take a look at www.tk409.com/tk409.html#. Half way down the page is a tutorial on how to make the desert troopers heavy blaster which is based on the MG 15. It provides all the components needed to make a really good looking prop. All anyone would have to do is put a motor in it somehow.

No, I just had the M733 lying around. I bought it on sale last summer, intending to make it into a vehicle-mount MG for the turret of our BA-64...eventually. A Russian DT was out of the question (too skinny to house any AEG gearbox I can find,) so I was fishing around for other MGs the Ruskies might have had on hand, and stumbled upon the MG13 - apparently, the Germans unloaded a bunch of MG13s on the Russians and the Portuguese after they developed the MG34. Anyway, the boxy receiver on the MG13 looked like it wouldn't be too hard to derive from the M-16 body style.
BTW, thanks for the references - the Star Wars site has some good reference photos. Clever use of floor mat material for the ribbing on the drum mags.
migmadmavis, your MG15 is looking great so far!

Both are very cool ideas. I had considered the MG-13 and MG-15 before for possible AEG conversion. The MG-13 looks more suitable simply because the reciever is quite large and can accomodate an AEG gearbox. The MG-15 on the other hand is just a tube for the reciever and I don't know where you could squeeze a gearbox into it without huge scale infidelitys. MG-15's where originally an aircraft weapon, When the Luftwaffe upgraded their aircraft defences many MG-15's where converted for infantry use and used by Luftwaffe ground troops.

Alright, well went back to work on my MG15, took a break, watched Star Wars Episode IV, and then made this cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140171658648 I took out all the internals, and just made it a prop gun for serious Star Wars Fan! I love it, and I think it looks great, but let me know what ya'll think!! -MMM
