Hello just got a new one a week ago and have been breaking it in by shooting at targets. No rough handling at all.
Everything went well with the first 100 bbs (that's 10 mags' full). When I tried to shoot again earlier today it just stopped working.
As far as I can tell this was the status and what happened.
-bbs loaded in mag; there is gas also -cocked bolt and this successfully chambered bb -pulled trigger and heard a click
BUT no characteristic burst of gas and no bbs fired out of barrel
At first, before I knew what was happening, I would re-cock and pull trigger again but this only meant that several bbs are chambered/lodged in barrel... which I then had to clean out.
When I was cleaning the bbs out I smelled a bit of gas so some must have been trapped in between the various bbs that I tried to fire.
I opened up the bolt and put it back together, opened the mag and did the same, and even pull the barreled action off the stock (but I couldn't detach barrel etc.) and put it back. The trigger mechanism seems to be working fine. There is no observable damage or obstruction at least on the parts that I was able to open up and inspect.
Tried again. Same problem.
I suspect that I must have done something quite stupid at some point but not sure what it was. Is this a known problem and is there an easy fix?
I read somewhere that Part No. 65 often breaks in a tanaka 98k - did I break mine?
Please help!
Thanks in advance....
