I have an m1 carbine in great shape, but all three mags leak to some degree. I took them all apart, cleaned the seals and the put them back together with some silicon caulk around th seals. I am pretty sure its the valve leaking. Can you still get valves for these, are the valves universal, and how do I change one when I get it?

It is very common for the Marushin 8mm magazines to lose the O ring on top of the magazines and it is a very standard size O ring so you should be able to get replacements at Home dpot etc. Mount with some glue to help hold them in place and enhance the seal.

Yep, just run to the local hardware store and they'll be able to hook you up with some O-rings. Don't bother with ordering any online or at a airsoft retailer, they're overpriced (even for O-rings) and not worth the wait. One of my marushin magazines leaked when I got it, I used a dab of glue and placed an O-ring on. Worked fine for me.

Ok it took me a bit to get t lowes, i grabbed a couple sizes.. It sounds more like the air is leaking from the fill valve. Also I am looking at the mag and don't see anywhere to put an o-ring other than to cram in into the hole, or the recessed depression around the hole. The mag leaks whne out of the gun so it isn't a connection between the mag and gun. Thank you for the info so far.

I know this is a bit old, but I finally got off my duff and started working on this again. It is the valve that was leaking. There is a little o-ring on it that was shredded. my problem now is that it isn't a standard o-ring (I think) I have the right diameter, but the o-ring on the valve needs to be thinner. Anyone know where to get them. I have looked at the hardware store around here and know luck. Can I use one meant for different mags, or butane lighters?
