I just bought an PGC STAR V3S gearbox for my a6 and I am not sure what to put in it. What AEG parts (motors, gears, pistons, etc.) I am looking for durability as well as torque. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What parts did the gearbox come with? I run a PDI170% spring, Guarder Blue piston (2nd tooth removed and a washer to head space the piston), Systema gears, metal bushings, and a Classic army High Torque motor (have a lot of these). Also has a systema spring guide but I made the spring guide block that holds it in the gearbox. The cam that retains the spring guide block I also made and can be flipped to increase or decrease 30-40 fps. The who, what and why about removing the 2nd tooth on pistons. forums.airsoftmechanics.com/index.php?topic=956.0///ed///

The gearbox came with:
Chamber Set Cylinder Head Nozzle Tappet Plate Motor Pad M130 Spring
What else do I need, and what type, to get the gearbox working? Could you give me a list of what you used biged?

Trigger
I used a micro switch mounted sideways to the back plate. I drilled two small holes and inserted roll pins the same diameter of the holes on the micro switch. The pushed on the switch. I made a special trigger which moves down under the micro switch. When depressed, opens the micro switch (micro switch can be wired to open or close) sending current to the automotive relay. The relay closes and sends current to the motor of the gearbox, firing the gun. The automotive relay is used to remove the high amount of current moving through the tiny switch.
Hopup & Nozzle
I used a V3 hopup and nozzle. If you use a Star Hopup make sure you use a Star nozzle. Whichever hopup you have make sure you have a matching/compatible nozzle.
Inner Barrel
I used a piece of white 1" PVC schedule 40 as a inner shroud that goes inside the heat shield. To keep the inner barrel centered inside the PVC pipe I used a couple of nuts rounded and welded together and then press-fit them into the PVC. You can use 1" diameter 1/4" fender washers to do the same. You just have to drill the 1/4" hole in the middle of the fender washer to the outside diameter of the inner barrel which is between 10-12mm (?).
Next time I dis-assemble the gun I will take some photos of how I put mine together.

Thanks for your help. I already have the barrel and gearbox lined up I just need to know what parts the gearbox can take to start working.

Yes.
Compatible parts with a Star, PGC, or Mad Monkey gearbox:
6mm Bushings/Bearings Gears, Systema, Prometheus (just about all types.) V2, V3 anti-reversal latch & spring V3 Tappet plate (V2 or V3 tappet plate spring) V2 or V3 Cylinder head Type 0 Cylinder (No hole in cylinder) Nozzle must match the Hopup Type. Short Length Motor Spring guide is proprietary to the gearbox and should come with one.

Some pictures for you Hank. At the last WW2 in Amsterdam the 1919a4 was inconsistently feeding and skipping 1-in-9 shots. I swapped out the Systema Sector gear with a G&P Sector gear that has a larger tappet plate lug on the side. This holds open the tappet plate longer for a bb to enter the hopup chamber. There is a Sector gear clip made by Systema to attach to the side of the gear, but we did not have any at the shop. I found the G&P gear instead. Clocked it at 28 bb's a second with 10.8v. Although I intend to use the 9.6v mini in it, it keeps it to a level 22 a second. Close up of the trigger switch. The switch is OFF in this position. The switch is ON when you pull the trigger. The wiring hairball. Trust me, it is real simple compared to what I had it before... ///ed///
