Im gonna go for a german impression and i just want to know before i do what is the most basic german unit that fought in the ETO and is their an airsoft unit portraying them, Are they recruiting ? If so do you have to wear camo ? I prefer other uniforms. Ive decided to change from my 2nd ranger impression on the count that there arent alot of Germans and Im gonna do my best to help end that problem so everyone can have someone to shoot at ;D and plus German uniforms.......very nice.
Just help where i can!!!

Hi Second Ranger, Ben here. In answer to your question, the majority of the reenactors here in the U.S.A., love portraying the SS. There are, in fact, several units portraying the Heer, but for the most part........ As for the boots, let me first start off by saying, that they are the most important purchase to starting a German impression. Yes, they are a lil' higher in price, especially the Low Quarter Boots, but are the most comfortable. Trust me man; DO NOT SKIM ON THE PRICE TAG WHEN IT COMES TO BUYING YOUR GERMAN FOOTWARE!!!!. If you do, your feet will hurt like Hell. You won't be able to walk, and your 25 pounds of Gear will put blisters the size of dog-balls in your feet. Your entire reenacting event will all immediatly go to applesauce ! Seriously! I can't express this to you enough! ATTHEFRONT.COM has wonderful pairs of the low quarter German boots, and God, they sure are comfortable.................and only $175.00.

Go with a Heer impression. Too many SS folks. It may sound wacky, but lots of the old folks don't like watching elite units duke it out, because as we all know, most fighters were just grunts.

Thanks for boots info. Also I am a durability fanatic meaning I would take a magnify glass to the uniform making sure there are no rips or holes, i cant stand non durable things........it really is one of my pet peeves. Also I like the SS uniforms But i like the german low boots with the ankle gaitors but I need a uniform along with a place to get a cheaper kar 98. I heard tanaka are better but their $500 but i prefer $400. And are there any Groups around the chicago area?? Thanks

The Tanaka K98 is THE best K98 out. It is worth the $500. Don't waste your money on the Marushin K98.

And if theres any expierienced German airsofters do the Uniforms rip alot or tear cause they look delicate unlike the US uniforms ?Thanks all!! And i thought that the majority of reenactors in USA preferred being american? not SS?........my brain hurts
