I had a suggestion reguarding medics in the upcoming event:
I suggest we use "kill the medic" rules, to make things less complicated. This means, if you see a medic you can shoot him. During the war neither side ALWAYS obeyed the Geneva Convention, and shot medics in the heat of battle. I would also like to use a springer hand gun, just for protection and so I can get some action. And if the medic dies, somebody else will need to pick up the medic bag, and fulfill the rule. It would make things more realistic in my opinion. It would make things more difficult on the medic, but it would be more interesting.

I bought two Colt.45 Springers from 2nd bat and if you dont have a colt you are welcome to use one of them.
By the way I really like this medic thing, should add alot to the game.

Concidering the small sides of this event the medics will more than likely be "un-killable". My God is that even a word? Anyway, the medic duties really are fast paced and hectic. I doubt you'll have time to "protect yourself", especially with a springer pistol.

Medic rules add a lot and we generally play them as active targets on the field.

Hello,
Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I think this issue needs some discussion. I think the medic rules need some work. Here is what I think we should, at least try, to use for medic participation. I propose that the medics can get shot and shoot back, and when they get shot, they have to bandage themselves up single handedly and if they die, another medic takes up the bandages and medical duties. Maybe we could set up a couple of medics, so that if one dies, he will need to get carried away by some soldiers and another medic can take up the duties. If a player gets shot, the medic bandages up the player in the spot they are hit (perhaps we can keep the cards for this situation?). TommyGunner has a local military surplus store that has original ww2 stretchers and I think that when somebody dies they need to be carried back to a respawn zone to reenter the battle. It would make the game less fast-paced, and I think, more realistic. The book Russian gave me shows alot of techniques on how to bandage people up and add splints and such, and I think it would be alot better than a 50/50 chance of living or dying. What do you guys think?

Holy...Dude thatd be sweet! The allies can do that, well just throw the wounded medic over our shoulder and run like H3LL . That would add alot to the game but there needs to be a big game to do that, but anywho Kick@$$ Idea man! Schutze

Again, seeing as we are still relatively small, we should still have "un-killable" medics. At least for right now. However, the stretcher idea is a good one! I don't think the medics should have any weapons except for maybe a pistol.
Truth be told, the US & Germans were pretty civil when it came to wounded and there is plenty of proof of opposing sides helping the wounded enemy.
The last event was lacking a bit because I forgot the medic gear. I have made sure that does not happen again. Eventually what I would like is having whole medic teams. A combat medic, then an "aid station" in the rear where casualties need to be brought in order to "respawn". SO again, that stretcher idea is a very good one! We'll have this perfected soon enough, patience my friends...it's coming together very nicely. ;D

I like the aid station, makes it harder to respawn and you cant respawn as fast, oh and the strechers are going no where (he has alot of them and hasn't sold a single one for a year) so we can wait until we get alot more guys, like next summer, to do the strecher thing. I shure can't wait for the medic thing to come full swing! (Man I use the word "Thing" alot) TommyGunner

That is a awesome idea, Jeff! Like a Mobile Spawn Point from WWIIOL, so that we don't have to walk back into the other end of the forest to respawn. It actually might work pretty well.
