I first encountered them about, oh i dont know i guess it was like 2 years ago. I was realy interested in german uniforms at the time and while sedarching for photos of reenactors I came across the ww2airsoft.com website. When I read a little about what you WW2AA was doing I stuck my nose up and thought, "Man, this is definately not as cool as th stuff I have seen with blank fire reenacting. These guys are giving WW2 Reenacting a bad name" I didn't come across this site again untill last October and since the time I first saw the website, I had some exposore to airsoft in general and now I think that it is totally awesome and even better! ;D Well lets hear your story on your first encounter with WW2AA ;D. I was doing a search for a M1 Garand airsoft gun, and I was linked to the 2nd Ranger's page. Things took off from there.

I googled ww2 airsoft hoping there would be such a site. When I first lurked at the site there seemed to be a moderator named redlegs. An artillery Officer who I suspect got called back up. Is that my imagination? Not much seemd to be going on at the time so I drifted away only to come back later.

My order from WW2guns.com was taking a long time so I figured I'd check around to see if anyone had ever had any trouble with them before. Thats how I found this sight.

Started off on the WW2 reenactors boards, saw the link to here. Didn't really check on it until about 6 months later when I found out about real airsoft (not the $20 springer stuff), got into the M16's and all that, then bought a Thompson and started visiting this forum regularly.

Yes Redleg, ran the site for about a year (which was a HUGE help), The site actually goes back to 1998! It's been a long long road to here. LOL I found part of the Circa 2001 site, PREPARE TO LAUGH!!!!!!!!! www.geocities.com/mord1024/ww2.html

Gordie, with pictures like that ......I'm just wondering how you ever got married brother! As far as my involvement with the institution that has become WW2AA (BTW, the[/b] seminal History-related Airsoft Enthusiast Site on the Interwebs ;D), I just answered an ad in "Modern Forum Moderator" magazine- "Wanted: Moderator to play "Bad Cop" part to rest of Mod team's "Good Cops". Must have command of obscure and esoteric popular culture references and posses ability to act like a pompous ass most of the time" I thought, Great! thats me!....Now what the hell does 'obscure' and 'esoteric' mean? -G

Idle chit chat on the boards then I purchased an M1 Carbine from him and we've been friends ever since. I miss you man.
