I'm sure there are better ways of making this but this is the way I made some barbwire for our next scenario game day. This is one strand I was thinking 2 strands per section. 1/8 diameter rope. pushed through crossing small zip ties clipped down wrapped with twine. painted with cheap ass primer grey then a rust primer overspray here and there. Pain in the ass as far as tedious. [/img]

Nice job Dan. I tried making some last summer and it was a PAIN IN THE A$$!!!! I prefer to buy it up after Halloween. They usually have 20' sections at walmart that sell for $3.00. That's the "blow out" price after halloween. I had a bunch at the last midwest game and you could not tell the difference between the fake stuff and the REAL stuff that was in the woods.

$8.00 to ship that barbwire You can mail it in a small box via 1st Class (USPS) for $3.00. I can't stand ebay... I can mail a whole uniform (tunic & trousers) for $9.50. That guy is just squeezing an extra $5.00 out of the buyer. Ok...I'm done crying now.

I agree with you Zak. Whenever I see a listing with an outrageous shipping or worse yet no shipping charge listed I stay as far away as I can. It's amazing how many suckers apprently don't add that into the amount they bid and put up with some sellers nonsense. The barb wire in the after halloween bins looks like a great way to go.
Dan I've often thought about a bangalore torpedo mission for an assault scenario Ala Big Red One. Very cool work with your home made wire. One cautionary note is evn though it won't cut anyone you still have to careful about the trip hazard. It's a good idea to place short strands of white strips on the wire so people see it which is not entirely unrealistic as we often did so on our perimeter wire in country. I have often thought regualr black commo wire would be good but never thought to add the little wire twisties.
