The base looks just like a ZF41 scope base , but the scope look nothing like a ZF41. The ZF41 scope was developed as more of a "sighting aid" than a true sniper telescopic sight. I have an Original ZF41 scope base , i'll have to find it later on today.

You may want to ask Alban what he thinks of using a scope on his custom K98, he's our squad marksman. The last I recall is that he likes the look for pictures and such, but as far as effective skirmishing, it isn't much use at airsoft distances and actually gets in the way of sighting the gun. This is one of the reasons I've decided not to go with a scope on my K98.

I did some work as a sniper , and as long as it sits high enough so that I can still see the iron sites you it should be some what beneficial.

I did some work as a sniper , and as long as it sits high enough so that I can still see the iron sites you it should be some what beneficial. Well if you're going to use the iron sights anyway, what's the point of having a scope? Other than looks... I know this argument has been repeated ad nauseam on this board (in one Stg-44 thread if I recall correctly and potentially others) so I'm not going to break down the pros vs cons. I'm more of a 'function over form' kind of guy. I realize that in this hobby, how things look are important, but when it comes to my weapon I'd rather not have any obstructions in my aiming line. When I want to shoot something that has such an obstruction I'll whip out my paintball guns My point here is that with all the German Kit out there that's required to build a good impression, I can think of many many things that I would prioritize over a scope. But that's just my opinion.

Udo - that's because there are no ZF-41 scopes pictured. The Zf-41 scope was not (I repeat NOT) a sniper scope. It was a only 1.5 magnification and was issued to the marksman in a squad. So it wasn't alone in a sniper role but operated with 8-9 Germans as part of a squad, one of whom got the scoped rifle. But as has been said, scopes are for pictures and movies and not so useful for airsoft.

I have a Tanaka K98. When I bought it, I wanted a Tanaka ZF41 scope for it, not so much for sniping, but more because I thought it would look cool. Also, I wear a small face shield that makes getting in close enough to comfortably use the iron sights more difficult. Having an elevated scope helps with this. The ZF41 scope is not very powerful so it is more of a spotters scope than snipers scope as others on here have mentioned. I bought my K98 used from a local player. It did not come with a scope. The Tanaka K98 comes with the mounting rail for the ZF41 scope. After I bought the rifle I tried to find a Tanaka ZF41 scope, but everyone was and still is out of stock on them. Correct me if I'm wrong! Since I could not find one I thought I'd look into finding and original ZF41. after looking at ebay for several weeks and seeing that ZF41 scopes with a mount went for $500 to $1,000, I decided to get just an original mount and find a modern scope that would fit it. I found a ZF41 scope mount that I bid $250 or so and won. When I got the scope mount I found out two things. 1:A ZF41 scope has a TINY tube diameter!! Something like 1/2inch!! I mean itty bitty!! Much smaller than the Tanaka ZF41 sort'o copy!! Good luck finding anything but an original ZF41 scope that would fit the mount!! 2: The original ZF41 scope mount does not fit on the rail of the Tanaka K98 either!! I did finally find a Tanaka ZF41 scope on Ebay! It looks great on the gun, makes aiming easier with a face shield and mounts and dismounts in seconds. Also I think you can still use the iron sights with it on!! I have not tried the K98 with the scope in a skirmish, so I don't yet know if I'll like it better with or with out. The last time I used the K98 in a skirmish, was without the scope and I made a kill at almost 200 feet. So I can't comment on the effectiveness of the scope in combat. Before you get one of the Tanaka scopes, if you can even find one, check to see if it will even fit on a D'boy K98. Does it even have a side rail for a scope? Maybe someone else has tried!! By the way, anyone want to buy an original ZF41 scope mount

I gotta say I thought the scoped k98 that Ersatz made with ersatz turret mounts looked pretty good.

Ok, the Tanaka k98 zf41 scope mount will NOT fit the dboyi rifle - i own 2x tanaka scopes/mounts and the issue is with the mount block on the dboyi. they missed out on the underside slide rail groove!!
