much like our Mills bomb airsoft grenades, I am looking for "models" to make molds for and then in this case cast foam repros from looking for 60 and 81mm inert rounds however the gem would be German/French/russtian 50mm as it would be a perfect WWII/MilSim replacement for nerfs

You know the arming wire? Make that a plastic coil (the ones for vegetable bags at super markets) and make two die-cast pieces: the fuse and the body. When you pull the arming wire, and the die-cast shell falls off exposing the nerf rocket.
So, if you get a model box, and paint it correctly, you could have a decent looking Mortar set.

Yeah, pretty expensive. I think if you could find a metal cone, mine would be a piece o' cake.

medic, i think you are missing what I am trying to do.. make full scale replicas that don't (in comparansion) cost an arm and leg, much like i did with the mills bomb shells for grenades weather it becomes a 2 part sabot for balloons or BBs, is fired as a solod round or is simple a resin model to paint and hang on the wall... I need to get the inert round to cast it form

www.alleramilitaria.com has wood/metal 60mm HE rounds in their allied section. Probably not 110% historically accurate or terribly cheap but it may work well for casting a form. <YD>
