I've been working on this on and off for about a year now, its nearly complete but I wanted to see what you guys thought of it so far, especially since I haven't posted any work here yet ;D : I've made everything from scratch with hand tools and had my Dad to the welding for me. I know the heat shield isn't correct, I'll probably grind it off and bang out a proper one after it's all done though.

Looks good in my book. Great job thus far. Is this airsoft or just for display?

Mostly display, but it wouldn't be much trouble to fit a pneumatic launcher inside the tube. In the end I'll probably have it launch those little hobby rockets for fun. Last year we launched bottle rockets out of it, course we have plenty of space to do so without things becoming dangerous or a fire hazard.

I think they cut down on the hobby rocket launcher type laws after 911. I'd look into it before doing it.

The propellant has to be under 4.4 oz, and the rocket itself has to be lighter than 3 pounds I think, but I doubt I'll even come close to that weight. Since I intend to get my rockets back after launching them, I don't want to use a powerful motor anyway.
That and the police around here are more likely to come out and say "Whoa, Awesome!", tell everyone to play it safe and head back out. Considering thats exactly what happened to a friend of mine enjoying his full-auto MG42 I doubt a paper rocket will bother them at all.

Very nice job with your welds. Your heat sheild looks x5 times better than mine up close. I used 5/16ths rod to protect the QuickExhaustValve on back of my bazooka, I should have used 3/16ths rod.
Very good work indeed.
