I see two colors of FJ sleeve ranks insignia. That you sometimes see on FJ smocks. They are available with a dark blue background and white wings as well as greenish/brown background.
Were the dark blue patches only used early war on the sold green smocks or were they also used later on camo smocks as well? In original B&W photos I have no idea what colors they are. I have only found one place online that showed the ranks insignia and they only show the dark blue version.
I plan to put the patches on a camo jump smock.
Thanks in advance fro any help!

I would just get the green backed ones. They were used on through out the war.
I have never seen an orginal blue backed one.

I may do that. The only dark blue ones I have seen are in color photos of guys showing their impression on the "I'm working on it " and "Stitch-not-see" photo threads on this forum.
I wonder if the Blue ones weren't more for Luftwaffe flight crews rather than FJ units.
Anyone else have any recommendations?
