Wow, you got hit bad lol. Take some steel wool to the spots and gently rub them away, it will take away the spots but not the paint. This process will however leave a slighly different finish on your helmet in the areas that you used the steel wool, so once you have removed the spots go over the entire helmet with Steel wool to simply give it a uniformed finish.
This is what I have done and I imagine it will work for you as well.

I got my helmet from At the Front Militaria. And we were playing a tower defense game with one team holed up in a tower with multiple respawns. So yeah my helmet got hit pretty bad whenever I stuck my head out. Thanks for the steel wool tip, I'll try it now.

Your helmet looks sick, you should have a doctor take a look at it...

That's pretty crazy. I've never seen a helmet react like that to fire. The worst I've seen is some paint chipping from a pellet. My guess is that there's something lacking in the paint job of the helmet. It should be able to take a pellet hit without marking like that. I love ATF, but sometimes they disappoint. I highly recommend Ken's work at www.germanhelmetsinc.comYou could send him your shell and have him repaint it in the textured late war color (it won't mark like that guaranteed).

I hope you called your hits! Geez. That's incredible! I'll bet you were glad you were playing in a Krauts vs US instead of a shirts vs. skins game!

When I airsoft in my 43 USMC riflemens kit I put my cammo helmet cover, and several times I got plastered in the helmet from reletivly close range. I took my helmet off and set it on the ground and noticed there were seeveral very small holes, more like very freyed spots on the cover where the BBs hit. I was astonished lol.

I have never seen that happen to a helmet either. What type of BB's were being shot? My guess is some cheap-o's from a big box store.

ATF's paint is really close to original paint.
