Well,
I would ditch the SS service shirt, just get the regular service shirt. They really werent seen too often with any insignia on them.
I'd definately leave out the knights cross. Maybe go with some rank? Sturmman or Rottenfuhrer?
Id get the m43 from Lost Battalions. A lot better quality and about the same price, atleast to my knowledge.

ok, i wasn't so sure about the shirt anyways. as for rank, that is included in the Insignia Set, just didn't say which rank because i dont know. the knights cross is still a maybe depending on the rank i choose. and is lost battalions a site? thanks

That is a hefty purchase! Plan on going to a game soon?
The only thing, other than the helmet, is boots. I did not see any boots in that purchase. I assume that you have them already… but, never can be too sure!

ya its big, i dont see myself buying it for a few months, but i do have boots i'm just going to put the BW Gamaschen(leggings) over them to do until i get jackboots. and yes, i would be all up for coming to games after i purchase these items. Franz is trying to get WWII started i think more here in central IL from Chicago. I hope it works

Also, if youre going to rock an MP40, dont forget to get an uscha rank because only squad leader carried MP40s. (From what Ive heard)

I don't see trousers on that list. Ditch the knights cross and ribbon. get a regular enlisted service shirt no insignia. Gasmask gan. flat or folding entrenching tool with cover. Breadbag, canteen and mess kit. helmet cover. Get a set of repro Gamaschen not PW. Czech trouser suspenders. put off the camo smock until later and use that money elsewhere, one of the things you hear from Wehrmacht veterans especially in the heer is that we (reenactors) use waaaayyyyy to much camo, get a helmet cover, the M43 or even M40 look way sharper than a camo smock! Check out these sites for personal items and field gear: www.lostbattalions.com/german33-45/ss/sslist.htmlwww.landser.com/alleramilitaria.ieasysite.com/alleramilitaria_004.htmwww.hessenantique.com/

German soldiers rarely entered combat without a helmet. If you're on a budget and have a big head- get a repro M40 from Hessen Antique.
Originals are best, and refinished examples can be found at:
German Helmets Inc. 1944 Militaria Grigsby Militaria At The Front (limited)
For boots, if you want cheap and want 'em fast, get the ATF lowboots. If you're willing to pony up a few more bucks, go for Grigsby Militaria lowboots. I got mine from them, and the construction is SOLID AS A ROCK.
SS Room makes nice boots, as does Lost Battalions- but the LB boots are waaaaaay out of my budget at least. I'm considering getting a pair of SS room.

I have been considering ordering a bit of stuff from international military antiques (ima-usa.com) There repro helmets are only $80.00, MP40 magazine pouches $30.00 and belt with buckle only $30.00. Seems like a heck of price! Hessenantique.com is great for personal items such as gas canister, mess kit, and one of the only site that has an inexpensive breadbag. Getting all my tunics from ebay.com/ANT-Z-Military
Got my agm mp40 from airsplat.com only$114.99 and extra mags are only $5!!!

hey look for spanish german helmets. not the crappy metal ones everyone knows... they were german issued and after the war were sent to spain and got 2 hole punched in the front most of 1944's refurbesed helmets r spanish german, and also look for black german helmets they r german issued but sent to czech after the war and were painted black and got new liners in them u can get those pretty cheap. try and stick with the m42 style if u go s/g or czech way cause u know they arnt post war cause they never made the m42 style post war and they make repop m42's but u might as well buy a real german m42 for those prices. i would not buy german helmets from grigsby he over prices them and for an extra 100 bucks u might as well buy a real heer single decal helmet.
