that picture, about 20 posts back, is an asahi gas mg34 from the 80s -Gordak That's not an Asahi MG34 in that picture. Compare to an Asahi and you'll see the differences. Asahi MG34's front and rear sights and the AA sight bracket all had a telltale greenish/gray finish, the one pictured here doesn't have that. Also, the air hole pattern in the barrel jacket on the 34 posted above is different then an Asahi MG34. Lastly, if you look closely you'll see the trigger guard on the one posted above is much thicker than the Asahi and matches the thickness of the bare metal gun on the RSOV site. I'm sure there are many other differences, but those are the ones that caught my eye immediately.

I ebayed my Asahi a couple years ago.
I sure hope this new 34 comes out. Looks to be much better quality then the Asahi. I was disappointed in that gun- too many plastic and pot metal parts.
