Electrical Techies please help!!
I have an M4 that was wired to the butt stock. I have rewired it to the front in a PEQ box. I used the same 18awg wire for the run. However, the only battery connectors my electric supply place had were 16 gauge, so I used them. The battery was wired w/ 16 gauge anyway. Battery is a 9.6v 1200milli.
Anyway, now I charge the battery and it fires, and seemingly well. But when you come back to it an hour or so later it is drained and on't pull the piston back. Why is it draining so fast?!?
So, could the large connectors be sapping my juice? The battery is not getting hot, so I don't thing it's draining out somewhere inside my wiring. Is the extra length of wire sapping my juice? When I wired it all up, I had to put a new connector on my wall charger. If I wired that up backward, would it even charge? Could it not be getting a full charge because of something like that? ....or is my battery just going dead at the same time I wired my battery forward. Any help here would be awesome.
