yeah, hi. i was really bored today since we have no school and i decided to take some pictures of my homemade guns i made as props for possible future movies. all of these are hand made from many different pieces. there not just 2x4's. they have some depth and such. idk. im bored. if you like feel free to add any you have made. these three are of my thompson M1A1. i made it about a year ago. and its pretty much my favorite. i was really happy with the finished product. the only thing i didnt build from scratch was the bolt. which is too small, (i know) but it moves. its a door bolt. these three are of my M1A1 bazooka. its built to scale, about 50 inches tall. i wasnt as pleased with this one, i built it in about a day and a half, no joke. on a whim. the main barrel is pvc, and i think im going to go back and remake the sights and rear tail thing. (blanked on the name) these three are of my current project my m1 carbine. it looks as if it may be my best work so far. the stock is hand made, from scratch. and im really proud of it. i also think the stain job is good. these are a few potatoe mashers i made. they kinda suck, but they look good flying through the air. enjoy i guess. and im always open to constructive criticism, it helps me in my future projects. thanks. and again, if youve evermade any homemade guns of your own feel free to show the off.

When I read the topic of this thread I was fully prepared to be amused by a bunch of crappy looking junk, but you have impressed me! Very nice work, especially on the bazooka! What scale are they do you think? (1/1, 2/3 etc)

theyre all full scale. the bazooka is 50 inches tall the thompson is about 35 inches and the m1 carbine is going to be about the same. it depends on how long i make the barrel

I'm in love with that bazooka!
I don't really see why you dislike your bazooka, I think it looks really good! Named him/her yet?
If I ever make one, I'll name her Stella (ring a bell anyone?)! ;D
That carbine looks like it's coming along nicely too, make sure to keep us updated.

well. thanks guys im glad u like them and i guess i dont think theres as good as people say they are because i built them and i see every little detail i screwed up on. theres a word for that isnt there? creators critism, idk. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. anyway... i have not named my bazooka, but i have tried. any ideas, i was thinking doris, or bessy. whatev. and how long does it take me to make them, well... the bazooka took about 2 days, maybe less. letting the paint dry was the majority of the process. i did it on a whim one weekend when i saw a pic of one on the internet. (no lie) the thompson took about a month maybe 1 and a half, but thats in part because i couldnt decide on a good stain color and metal color. i went through many colors and shades. i think i settled on a good one though. and finally the carbine, so far ive spent about two weeks of sporadic work on it, and i intend to make this my most detailed piece thus far. again thanks for the comments. any more questions or anything, just ask.
oh yeah and i thought id tell you i just finished painting my WE 1911. i put a coat of balckish grayish stuff on the barrel to make look like the military version. i might post a pic.

I think they are perfect for background work for a movie. Good job! Don't be too hard on yourself.

Here are some pictures of some all wood and metal dummy Garands that I made this summer using components I couldn't use on my AEGs. Ignore the orange tips as those were just stuck on the barrel tip for the pictures for Ebay. I was just screwing around with this last one waiting on some Garand heat shields so I used an M14 heat shield and made a franken gun until my handguards came in. They were solid and fused but made good props for guys with military vehicles or film work. I sold several of them on Ebay for between $225 and as much as $385.00. They felt right, although they were a bit light at 7 pounds. They looked good even in close ups. They used a lot of actual Garand components and the lower actual stocks which I wasn't able to use with my AEG conversions. I have a bunch of components laying around from time to time that aren't capable of being used on my rifles for one reason or another. They were fun to make though time consuming. and if I end up with some suplus components or find some cheap enough parts I'll make some more. I fuse a trigger in of course and with a sling and the right stains and paint treatments they come out looking pretty darn authentic. As you can tell I'm pretty obsessed with the Garand.
