Hi im new to the forum and im thinking about doing and italian impression. anyways ive done many moons of reserch throught the internet and ive come to you guys to help. i just need some general brainstorming for making a carcano rifle. ive seen gyphon's work with the "$20 nagant" and thought "slap a carcano stock on it." the fps is a little limiting though so just wondering wether u guys have any alternative ideas. like maybe the tried n true vsr conversions? anything can help. try to keep it all under $200. thnx to all -jon

$200 will be very difficult to adhere to You need the stock, a good rifle if you want any combat utility, and the labor cost to get it fit and adapted.

not advised that 280 fps will get you MURDERED in outdoor combat I mean, my M1A1 is 280 fps, but it is full auto with TM quality and accuracy. A single shot weapon won't do.
A single shot 280 fps weapon isn't really advised, unless its just for a backyard war Use a clone sniper rifle and get the accuracy and power that a bolt action needs to be effective

Follow some of the suggestions on the many threads on this forum about converting VSR's into old stocks and you should be ok.

Unless you're extremely pleased with the Mp001 and know it to be a good one I wouldn't extend the tremendous amount of time re4quired for the adaptation to a Carcano rifle stock and hardware. I did perhaps eight conversions using the MP001 as a base and half of them failed within a few months or even during the build. The tigger ceases to hold and the gun stops working. I've also had several that have held up fine and continue to soldier on with extensive use. The failure rate however persuaded me to use the Bar10 or TSD 700 as a base rifle.
Using a springer shotgun as a base is fruitless in my opinion since the effort vs return is simply not there. If you're going to put the time and energy into a conversion try to end up with something that is skirmishable. Gryphons effort was clever and came out extremely well but after the effort, what would he need to sell them for it to make sense. Way way more than the materials used and it's doubtful many would want to sepnd the money required given the low FPS.
Going the do-it -yourself route is definitely the key to affordability but do your self a favor and use a quality base rifle.

thnx guys. the bar 10 is a much better base rifle for the job. i guess thisll just take blood sweat and tears to make, but itll come out eventually.

How about a beretta smg, there`s a thread on here with an mp41 conversion from an mp40, the beretta looked similar so you could go that way
