Ok so I have been looking at buying the old TM 190 rnd mags for my loadout lately or converting the new KA mags. Then I thought "Hey I have these Cyma 300 rnd hicaps I wonder if I could convert those." I have seven of the little buggers and I never use them. So I took them apart and found much to my surprise they are pretty much put together so that you can convert them to 20 rounders let me explain how.
Take the bottom slide plate off your mag. Use a small allen wrench to stick lift and push.
Plate off the bottom.
Next remove these two pins with a small punch. They should push out easily enough.
Here you are with the two pins removed and the bottom plate removed.
The internals now just slide out the bottom.
You will notice that the internals come in 3 sections that simply snap together the top of the mag the middle tube section and the lower winding section. They snap apart like Legos. Like the designers knew someone would want to convert these.
Take out the middle section and attach the top to the bottom section. Again they just snap together. You may want to add a spot of glue if you are worried they would come apart but that is about it.
Measure the outer shell to the internals now. You notice they sit at about 6 inches. Right about 20 rounder size. ;D
Cut your outer shell.
Slide the internals in and put your two pins in. Don't be a dummy or be in a hurry I cut my outer shell am 1/8" to short no biggie but avoid it and be careful.
Congrats you have 20 rounders. These mags hold 151 rounds they feed all but 18 rounds giving you 133 usable rounds which makes them well inside the midcap range I feel.
