Ok, here is my attempt at a springfield conversion. At this point I can't get the correct scope rings(but I'm looking on ebay as the are no longer in production), and I refuse to put a weaver 330 on an airsoft gun that has a good chance of getting shot up; but other than that, it is fairly accurate. I actually found a turned down bolt in the parts bin at a local gunshop, so the entire bolt assembly is real. I sculpted a bolt release assembly from some small copper pipe and a real on/off switch. The scant stock was extremely old and covered in cosmoline, so it had to be refinished. Other than these differences, I just used the guide from 2bat. I think that it turned out well.

I got the stock at egunparts. If you are attempting the build you may want to get a demiliterized gun so you'll have all the parts. I got lucky and found a lot of good parts at my local gun shop. I was actually looking for one last part for my garand and the gunsmith pulled out three boxes of garand, springfield, and enfield parts and told me to make an offer on what I wanted.
