Has their ever been an occurance where the use of Mantels/Overcoats by W-SS infantry on the battlefield was very common?
When I mean common, I mean a company worth of soldiers wearing it, just not a handful.
And if so, what battles were they commonly used in?
Thank you!

Overcoats were much more common than parka sets.

I'm reasonably certain that a greatcoat was part of every soldiers basic issue. Pretty much everyone had one and was their property. Parka's and other dedicated winter clothing were usually division supply property and units were supposed to turn them back in when spring arrived or they were in areas that they wouldn't be used.

Thank you guys very much once again!
This leads me onto another question tho...
Let's say I wanted to create a LAH standard-issued overcoat, for your average EM or NCO.
What would I put on the mantel/overcoat?

Another question came into mine...
On the tunic, for an NCO, would the silver tresse have to be worn in GENERAL on and up around the edges of the collar?
