I have recently experimented with painting helmets with various markings and such. After my most recent helmet that I painted for a Medics impression I have decided to offer a helmet painting service. Not only do I build guns but I build models as well and have worked with an airbrush for 4 years now. I took the lessons I have learned from model building and applied them to painting aged markings on helmets. Here is a pic of my most recent figure I painted with a B-24 nose section. Here is a recently painted 3rd ID Medics Helmet. A person who would like a helmet painted must ship the helmet to me and provide me with the type of markings they wish me to paint. I will then paint the helmet with the requested markings either aged or not aged ( as per customers request) and then I will ship the helmet back paying for the return shipping myself. The price of a painted helmet will be determined by what type of markings are requested, the smaller and fewer the markings the less expensive it will be. The customer will have to be quoted on an order to order basis. I will begin offering this as of May 10th and each helmet will be completed in one weeks time. TommyGunner

Tommy,
Besides it looking really authentic , The helmet color looks spot on, what color code and brand of paint do you use?
I have the same question for German base colors, both the Apple green and later darker gray/green

I used the same paints I use for modeling. The helmets olive Drab paint was straight out of the bottle and made by Tamiya. Infact all the paints I used were made by Tamiya.

actually, Tamiya model paints are not acrylic they are enamel. if you want i good acrylic for airbrushing use CREATEX paints, that has been what ive used for my helmets.
