I bought a cheap AEG to take apart so I could see what the internals looked like and hopefully to do a little crappy conversion (I'm hoping to do that like some of the Custom Gun Builders after a while), and I don't know how to take the damned thing apart! It's one of those Double Eagle M4s, has anyone had experience with one and knows how to take it apart?

I'm no expert, but have you tried removing all the screws?

Double Eagle M4? Hmm...those things normally fall apart on their own.
Just a thought...making a custom gun seems like a pipedream if you don't even know how to dissasemble a gear box.

Drop it outta a 2nd story window, or throw it at a tree.

I tried to take the screws out, it didn't work. I guess I'll try again, thanks.
@ YankeeDiv - Yeah, I wasn't really planning on attempting to make a conversion that would actually be useful (Like TommyGunner's or 2ndBat's), just a conversion to see how to actually do one and how it would turn out. Mostly just because I have some free time.

Gotta start somewhere.

M4's are held together by the two body pins. One in front of the mag well, the other just above and behind the safety/selector lever. (For clarity, all references to front/back/right/left are with the gun at your shoulder) They go in from the right side. Remove the rear one first. Then hold the gun upright on a table with the mag well on the edge, hold the stock tube and push down on the foregrip. The gun should separate and pivot open on the front pin. If it doesn't, remove the front pin and grasp the stock tube in one hand, the foregrip in the other and pull them straight away from each other. Your wiring will still hold the two together. Open the foregrip and disconnect the wiring behind the fuse holder. It will then feed out of the upper half. Then remove the stock tube, motor housing/pistol grip, small pin above the trigger and the mag catch, and your box is free.
