i've got an idea, the idea is to build a lewis gun out of one of the unbuilt lewis replicas from cushmans custom paintball, but the block here is what AEG should i use? and how would i flip the magazine feed?, any way i'll be saving up for it for quite a while,

i would use an mp40 gearbox, or an M4 gearbox. Flipping a magazine feed can only work on some guns i would think. you would have a lot of trouble with messing up seals between the gearbox and barrel.

Perhaps a P90? The magazine is already on top.

I would maybe use an Ver 3 gear box with a P90 hop-up based on these drawings.

i'm saving up to buy tommy gunners SMLE right now then i'll start on this, i think from what i'm hearing a p90 looks like a good choice here, anybody got any ideas to make the p90 magazine larger to fit the circular shape of the lewis mag

Actually I think you would have to cut down a P90 magazine because they are so long (about ten and seven-eigths inches). However it looks like the Lewis gun's magazine has plenty of thickness to work with. You could potentially use the internals from some other magazine as well. Perhaps even just making it hollow with a slanted bottom and going for a pure gravity feed. I am guessing that might not work particularly well, but it would be easy to do.

The nozzle should match the hopup unit used in the build. If you are going to use a p90 hopup unit, make sure you get a p90 nozzle for the v3 gearbox. Otherwise you will have air seal and or feed issues. The Lewis gun is a big gun (38 to 40 inches without stock, 50 inches with), it may be easier to drop in a complete p90 gearbox.

Just click the size 'Original" at the bottom of the page. Here's the link for large scale: www.pbase.com/kalbs/gun_drawings&page=allHope this helps
