Reserve Memorial Day Weekend for the second annual Jump to Destiny event in the Pacific Northwest. The C-47s will be assisting in a recreation of the night combat drop over Normandy and the following mornings action.
Last years event was the coolest airsoft event I had ever participated in and this year will only be better. Great impressions, marvelous staff, incredible props and full on emmersive atmosphere. If you crave a quality event this is the one you have to get to.
See pictures from last years outing or talk to veterans from last Mays Drop. You will kick yourself if you don't come to this operation.
More details to follow.

We will once again expect half the participants to be from out of state and even from outside the US. We truly pull out all the stops to make the event worth the expense and travel time required. It's a great chance to see folks you haven't seen in a long time and meet many of the people from this board.
From the time you arrive you will be emmersed in the period just before June 6th 1944. Whether you are German or Allied you will remain in character throughout to the degree that it is possible.

Damn it, I just flew from there to Denmark. Great, simply perfect. No, spectacular.
Yet again, it still doesn't matter that much, I'm still under age. No way I could ever get my ol' man to participate in the event with me. Nu-uh.
Well, when the time comes, you guys have a great event.. Lucky bastardos...

I am really looking forward to it. Will it be mixed with blank again? Are there any requirements or extra stuff if I planned on brining a real rifle that i would need to know?

Several out of state participants expressed concerns about airfare over a holiday weekend and as it turns out there are potential issues with the venue for the Memorial Day weekend. For those reasons and the general coolness factor we are going to change the date to...are you ready? The weekend of June 6th! The 65th Anniversary of the night drop.
Initial indications are extremely positive to this news and expressed interest in the event is almost overwhealming. The event will be bigger and better than last year and last year was the coolest Airsoft event I have ever attended. You've seen the pictures watched the video and talked to the folks who came. This event is absolutley one to put on your calendars. Watch for enrollement information as it becomes available. Set that weekend aside.

There was another event that I wanted to attend that was moved to Memorial Day weekend. Jump to Destiny obviously took priority, but if it is moved, I can totally do both.

Wnated to get the word out as early as possible but definitely set aside the weekend of the 5th 6th and 7th. Arrival will be allowed Friday night as before with assignment to billets and introductions to others in your unit. Saturday as before will be jump mission brief with training and rehearsal for your assigned missions. You'll be fed with actual field kitchen arrangements and provided authentic rations. There will be more period vehicles present and if enrollements go as I expect we will be adding some aircraft.
Unit choices will be: Airborne (101st and 82nd) , Gliderborne troops, British Para and some slots for French Resistance.
German options will be FJ, Heer and SS, Germans will receive training on Saturday and will conduct some anti partisan activities on Saturday. They will have rotational assignments Saturday night and be expected to defend a number of locations as per their sector defensive schemes throughout the weekend. There will be US objectives that need to be taken before day light in order to facilitate the landing by the glider troops and heavier equipment.
The level of equipment, display, props and emmersion will be elevated due to support from a number of reeanctment units who will be participating. Both Allied and Axis. Last year was great this year is going to be ground breaking. Hopefully not for the Airborne troopers.

We usually get a half dozen or so folks from this board out of the 100 plus folks we are expecting. It would be great to have even more of the folks from this board make it this year. I know travelling is expnsive and a hassle but it would be impossible for us to recreate this event elsewhere so if you want this experience you'll have to come to the Pacific Northwest.
In the past we've had attendance from Maine, NH, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, California, Colorado and Europe as well as here in the state of Washington. All felt the trip was worth it. A group from Wisconsin attended Long Winter and it is half the event this is while still quite fun. It'll be great to see them again. Good sports and nice guys one and all.

Out of curiosity do the Germans ever get to "jump" from the "C-47"? Not ingame obviously, but during exercises or training or whatever. </thinks we obviously need an Invasion of Crete event>

For that jump the truck was magically transformed into a Ju 52! Interestingly the technique and processes are very different for the FJ when compared to those used by the Americans. The proper German procedures were taught to the Krauts while the correct procedures for the Americans are taught to the Allies.
