No, I did not give that order...lol....I'm not that creative! Actually Gerry, the Tan & Water that I eventually ended up buying from Hessen Antique is very similar if not the same smock that you have. I saw a photo of you wearing it at the Military Museum. I think its a great replica, I love mine. I don't know if I mentioned this before, I will also be setting up a Zelt at the game, so we should have four as of now. UPDATEAny allied players attending the game, please contact me if you do not have a pup tent or other tent to use. I will be providing a few of them at the game, but it is first come, first serve.

Hessen Antiques is a good place with good service. The T&W I have is a spearhead Militaria, he makes great camo patterns that don't fade at all, the only problems with his (Barry Lyndon) is that the hardware is Sh*tty! My second pattern Olive green didnt have the side pockets or Pee hole cut out, the stitching is there but it was never cut!!!! You can't beat the price though! Sean are you setting up a four man tent which would actually be 4 seperate shelter quarters or a single zelt? that would be pretty neat to have 4, 4man tents set up. I bought my Zelts from Landser outfitters www.landser.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1305best price by far! I paid about $55 each for 4. They were here in 3 days from the left coast! I've printed out all the labels for the repro rations just gotta head to BJ's to buy the stuff to package. Will we be able to make a small fire pit? I was thinking a big pot Axis dinner Sat. night. Thanks again Sean for hosting this game on your property and your teammates for their hard work ad hospitality, we love it! And I know its no easy feat to organize 5 people no less 40! I am positive we will have a great time as always! -Gerry

Its a pleasure to be able to host events like this, really.
Landser outfitters is just the place I'm getting mine from. And yes, It will be a four man tent. He offers a great discount where when you buy four zelt quarters in one order he knocks the price of the zelt down to $55 (if you're buying the Splinter pattern, the price is $70 for one, so thats a pretty significant amount that you're saving!)
Yes, you will be able to do field cooking, I'll find a suitable place for the fire pit. Sounds great.

Yes, you will be able to do field cooking, I'll find a suitable place for the fire pit. Sounds great. Sean, Remember you will need at least 2 tent pole sets to erect a zelt tent, so if you just want to have a triangular tent with a flap opening you will need 2 pole sets and 8 tent pegs but if you want a tent with a canopy like opening you will need 4 pole sets which will give you the poles and 12 pegs, you will also need to run 8 guy lines for the zelt tent after you connect all 4 zelts. So you will need 4 of these: www.landser.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=903Here is a reference the four man tent on the left you will be able to see the 8 guy or tent stake lines and the tent on the right you will see with the canopy type opening. www.zeltbahn.net/tent.htmI'm not sure if you knew this so I figure I'd throw it out there.... the Zeltbahn has long been a mysterious piece of field gear until you get them in your hands! and that website is a great tool. -Gerry

I did...but I'm sure it will be useful for any other German on the site who plan on bringing their own zelt.

Another lively update:
This past Saturday Sean, Josh(Burt) and I spent the day erecting the town and additional fortifications. With this we reviewed the spawning rules for the event.
I’d like to just post the Spawn rules now, but, they will be explained again at the event so that everyone understands them. However, if you have any questions, by all mean PM me.
Re-Spawn, reinforcement and flag capturing rules:
Re-Spawning & Reinforcement Rules:
Blue containers and tokens are for the Allies use only! (+180 reinforcement available for Allies)
Red Containers and tokens are for the Axis use only! (+70 reinforcements available for Axis)
In order to re-spawn, a player MUST take a token from the reinforcements container and place it into the “spent” container. These containers will be marked on the field (Reinforcements/Spent).
If all the tokens are exhausted at a re-spawn point, you may no longer re-spawn at that point.
Once a player has spent a reinforcement point, he or she can return immediately into the action. It is recommended that players do not return by themselves into battle and instead form fire teams or squads with other fallen team mates before returning into action. This is by no means a requirement however.
All players are only allowed to re-spawn at designated re-spawn points on the field and at the HQ (encampment) of the players respective team. All re-spawn points beyond the HQ (encampment) of each team are marked by flags (control points) of the designated teams faction.
You may choose to re-spawn at any control point/flag location or HQ that your team have control over. To have control over a control point/flag- Your teams flag MUST be FULLY risen. You may still choose to re-spawn at your HQ even though your team controls a control point/flag.
You may not transfer tokens from one spawn point to another and you may not attack the enemy teams encampment! HQ locations are off limits to ensure nobodies period WW2 tents are damaged.

What are the grenade rules for this event? I have a batch of foam stick grenades I use with the MOA, but I did not want to assume things would be the same here.

I'd say if you get one within five to ten feet of a player they are out. If you get it in a room of a building that the player is in, again, they are out. But... I want more info on how these things work. And... did you register already>?

I beg of you for medic rules! No, just kidding. Will be kinda weird with no weapon, just a big red target. I think what TommyGunner did for a Pelilu event was if you throw it into a bunker, everyone's dead, and anything else is a 10-ft. radius.

Our grenade rules are the following: -Grenade lands in a prepared defensive position; all players in the position are eliminated (this would be a foxhole or a bunker). -Grenade goes in a building; all occupants are eliminated. -Grenade lands in open space; any player within 10 feet is eliminated unless they make an effort to disperse. As with all rules, there are exceptions. I guess if you had more than 10 feet of trenches, we'd have to make some alterations, but we have not yet played on such a field.

Well first off, it is up to you organizers. But what works really well for us is this. In an enclosed building or thrown into an emplacment or foxhole (everyone dead). If you touch it you are dead. No throw backs. When thrown anywhere else, within 10-feet or so, the target must see it and then it forces the target to flee. That's right, leave cover. The rest usually takes care of itself. But proximity kills in open fighting areas with grenades don't happen. They are used to displace defenders. This way no arguments. It has worked very well. Once we get the sonic grenade done (in development) then it won't matter if you see it, you will hear it. They really add to the game. Being foam construction means you can take a direct hit to the face and no problem. They are also difficult to throw very far (like throwing a wiffleball) and that is in keeping with the reduced ranges in play. We only allow foam. No plastic grenade throwing. Those are just too dangerous.

Hmmm.... I'll speak with Sean and Josh(Burt) about the rules. I like the flee rule in the open and the dead rule for emplacements.
All rules will be posted before the event and will also be repeated at the debriefing. We don’t want too many rules whereas players wont’ remember them all. This is in trying to keep the event simple. I’ll also do a write up of the rules and hand them out to each player at the event. That should help right?

Keep it foam, but get a small piece of broom handle, thin it, and then maybe dice and put it in the top, that would make it heavy but not harmful. I am not sure about the actual components, I'm just thinking household items.

Mclovin, ever hear of "juice bottle" grenades? we could use those just with no powder charge. Cheap, safe, and passable looking.
Medic, I think the problem with adding medic rules to the event is that it really complicates things. You have to add an entire new element to the event (which sometimes is good, sometimes is bad) just to make it work better for 1 person. There is no real need for a combat medic role in the scenario anyway, there would be approx. 1 combat medic per company (I think) and thus far the allies aren't even in platoon strength. But this is all up to the event coordinator to decide anyways.

Thank you for bringing this up, I didn't know that anyone would be bringing grenades.
The three of us will discuss how the rules will go, some good ideas here. The rules will likely be the same for the mortar hits.

YankeeDiv, In each Regiment there was one detachment (96 EM, 10 O) It goes to a battalion level. Modern TO/Es go on a Company level. In each Battalion there is one Aid Station Squad (2-MO, 7-EM), one Litter Bearer Squad (12-EM) and one Company Aid Squad (8-EM, x3), which would make it more than enough people. But I don't care. All I want is to bandage people, even for just the sake of a photo
