The Model 1937 Uniform Continued in production for officers throughout the war, but the model 1940 was used by enlisted men and NCO's post 1942. This is the norm, and forces wearing the model 1937 late in the war is the exception. Many old stocks were used to outfit foreign units. A smock can be very expensive, so remember that if the idea of airborne falls through, a model 37 is not correct for most periods.

hey'29ththerealpimps
what type of "British impression" are you doing" ??. if you are doing a British Para you can use the p-37 Jacket & the Para Trousers.
the p37 battledress is what was regular worn by the commando's. but the British Para & commando' shared a lot of equipment at that time .
here's the "Para" lode out' P37 or P40 Battledress Blouse with Para Trousers. P37, or P40 Trousers- Collarless Wool shirt- Para beret-Denison Smock Ammo Boots - Anklets.
P-37 Skeleton Web Set - belt, early type snap closure ammo pouches - braces. (shoulder straps) water bottle and carrier - Bayonet Frog - Rain Cape. First Field Dressing - Shell Dressing .
String bag - Trouser Braces Face Veil -Gammon Bomb -Hawkins Mine.
if you go with the British Para and want to do a Gammon Bomb . let me know as a buddy of mine from the UK. send me a great pic of a real" one.
this is your basic lode out for your British "Infantry" P37 or P40 Battledress Blouse with P37 or P40 Trousers Collarless Wool shirt Ammo Boots Anklets. P-37 Skeleton Web Set This set consists of belt early type. snap closure ammo pouches braces (shoulder straps) water bottle and carrier.
P-37 Small Pack Bayonet Frog- Rain Cape- First Field Dressing -Shell Dressing, String bag Trouser Braces Holdall.
i my self have bin putting parts together for a "British Commando impression". hope some of this helped.

If you've invested all the time and money to get everything else I think you should spring for the actual paratroop version of battledress trousers (that have the bigger pocket).
