Not that I know of. They don't have those spiffy eyelets where you can attach the bayonet like the m1928 packs. You'll just have to keep it on your belt. Yet another reason to do leg infantry *wink *wink lol.

You could conceivably attach it to the twin eyelet flap centered on the outside of the cover. I have never seen one placed there but come to think of it I've never seen anything attached there and it must have been designed with something in mind.

Better question is...why the hell would you...seems a very difficult place to draw a knife from in a CQB situation....lol

That's what I was going to post, but I think they meant the haversack. I just looked at mine and didn't see any.

In the center of the flap just below the US many of them have them. I have them on mussette bags dated 1943 (khaki) and 1945 (OD). I also have a mussette bag without it which is dated 1943. I never noticed that it didn't have it until it was mentioned here. I'll have to dig out the others and see. I wonder what the significance (if anything) there is to this?

ATF has a universal strap that you could use to either tie the scabbard to the ankle, or you could tie it to the mussette bag. I think it has the D-rings that you can hook onto the mussette bag. I'm not sure though.

In looking at the dates on the various mussette bags I have, the flap is not date dependent. Some early ones have it, some early ones do not. Some late ones have it, some late ones do not. Probably completely random. I wonder if it's airborne specific. (less to snag on?) Boy there's an assignment for someone to get to the bottom of.
