In stock at WGC and GNG! www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=MS-RG-M1GTPretty close in price to the fullsize one, though. I wonder if any problems have been fixed in this newer model. If anyone picks one up, please post a report! -- Also, magnesium clips for M1 Garands! www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=MS-MAG-M1GMI doubt it'll make the much-sought-after "PING!", since the spring more pushes the clip than kicks it out. From the sounds of it, improves durability a bit. But for the price, I'd almost just get plastic clips (I have) and replace those if/when they break. What someone needs to design is some sort of mechanism that uses any spare space in the receiver that generates a ping when the clip is ejected, now that would be cool.

That is awesome! In any case, it's still a big plus, becuase now you can drop the mag without fear of breaking it.

looks like they used a picture of the plastic clip for their magneseum clip.
Remember the tanker garand was not used in WW2!! It wont be allowed at period battles. -Gordak

I agree in principle Gordak..... However, my 13 year-old that plays with our team in a very good impression, well...a M1 Garand is less than a foot shorter than he is-.....ok he's a bit small for his age but thats a different story My point is this, the tanker Garand while not technically correct, may be better suited for our 'Soldiers of smaller Stature' and a tanker Garand isn't any more or less correct on the field than a player younger than 17 would be. Awww I'm just trying to rationalize another unique weapons purchase ;D -G

I believe that the youngest American that fought was 14....he enlisted in the Navy (lied about his age) and he was sent to drive trucks at the ship yards. He then found his was to a transport ship and stowed away on a landing craft at Iwo Jima.

ok ya'll, before we get all 'literal' and that- of the 16+ Million American men and women that fought in WWII, what percentage do you really think were under the age of 17? .00000005 %? ........probably. ;D By far and away service members were over the minimum age, but as with everything in life- there are always exceptions- let's not get into arguments about who can dig up the most obscure facts -G

if your too small for a full size garand use a carbine.
A tanker garand in the feild would really discourage me. I gues next to AKs and M16s at a mixed game its fine, but at a ww2 only event it would be bad. -Gordak

Ok Gordak... For you, no 'stubby Garands' because a discouraged Gordak is a grumpy Gordak -G

I am not sure about those magnesium clips.
As you all know magnesium is an extremly brittle metal. Maybe it won't break if falls, but do not step on it.

In my experince, anything Metal from Japan or China is rarely the type of metal they say it is.....
And eitherway, its usually cheap pot metal thats not that great anyway....but I'll have to wait for the reports to crawl in before I make any judgements.

I ordered 10 of the new metal clips from Redwolf and they got to my house in 3 days which is in the middle of Canada. Anyways these clips feel much stronger then the plastic ones the M1 comes with. I have tested 2 of them and I am pleased with the results it doesn't ping like the real thing but it does make more noise when it pops out. They feel very strong and won't break if you step on them or have them in your cartridge belt.
