Ok so we're not mucking up two other threads with off topicness. What's your opinion on collar brass on the M37 wool shirt? Was it done or not? Evidence?

i see that this topic came from "us boots" section... now that was very interesting, collar brass worn in the field as a part of combat uniform. i would suspect it was done buy VERY VERY VERY VERY UBER seldomly.... collar brass is for garrison / dress use...

the only time I have seen it done is buy officers with the crossed rifles, but I have never seen any discs on the wool shirt......

The round enlisted collar brass (US and Branch) was for the dress tunic (Ike jacket or dress blouse) not the wool shirt. Officers wore rank ensignia and branch insignia on their wool shirts but of course removed them whenever they were in a combat zone. (If they were smart)

No enlisted man would have brass on is collar unless he was in a Class A. No exceptions.
