:oCheck this out yo! Camo was used in the ETO I found it on at the front. The US Army W.W.II Uniform: In the summer of 1944, the US Army issued a limited number of the 2 piece HBT camouflage uniform. Troops of the 41st Armored Infantry Battalion (2nd Armored Division) were the primary recipients. Due to a large number of "friendly fire" incidents, the uniforms were withdrawn around the end of August. Apparently, anyone wearing camouflage was considered to be German. Original examples are very rare are quite expensive today. I have seen the other reproductions out there. These are absolutely superior. The fabric is the correct weight, the colors are dead on, and they wash well. No need for special treatment.

I have an original set and have owned it for about 12 years. naturally it's too small for me but it's a very cool uniform. I took a picture with my son in the uniform depicting a 41st Armored GI. There is an excellent book about the 2nd called Breakout at Normandy by Bando. Incredible battle with little reporting. Great insight and lots of good pictures.

An even rarer uniform that was also used in the ETO by the army is the HBT camo sniper uniform which is slightly different in cut. One of the reasons alot of germans were identified as "Snipers" when in fact they were regular rifle men is their Mausers were similar to our snipers M1903s (A Mauser variant) and they were in camouflage uniforms which for the most part was limited almost entirely to our snipers in the ETO. Rarer still is the HBT camo OSS uniform used by our behind the lines clandestine agents that jumped into France prior to D-Day and coordinated in person with the French resistance.
My uniform set has the cool 13 star metal buttons and is in very very nice condition. I can wear the top but not the pants. (size 30 waist) It looks great on a mannequin and my son. Everyone thinks is Pacific Theater Marine however.
