There are any number threads out there on how to make this gun better or how to make rounds from RS 8mm Mauser brass. I think I have contributed to most of them ad nauseum. Check the archives.

buy the new gas version its much better, did a conversion for a mate using the vsr/dboys came out working ok but unless youve done this sort of thing before its not easy, plus the cut and shut dovetail was a bit weak and has stripped the threads,so its coming back to me!!!to be repaired, the shells that come with it are prone to having feed issues,so the vsr idea works best, its down to what you want at the end of the day! a lookalike that shoots well or a lookalike that just looks good!

Found it, ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=technical&action=display&thread=2554the trick to the search is, scroll down to almost the bottom, and change the "Posted within the last:" to 0 days, 0 hours (which makes it actually, infinite hours, infinite days ago), so you can find topics from a long time ago. (Also, it did help that i had seen that before and remembered that the title was "roll your own 8x57" so my search took me directly to it)

making cartridges that work isnt easy the tolerances have to be spot on! however its not impossible and it may be easier with airsoft guns my expieriance is from making adapters for the real steel ie 20mm dummys that fit a .50 cart inside!got to make some dummy ones for a pak 38 next an am kinda dredding it!
