Question for Piper: Since we're talking about grenades, what type of U.S. grenades will be excepted? Are we still going with the tennis ball grenade? Are rubber dummy grenades ok? Or do we need to have the Escort MKII Pineapple Grenade that actually disburse BB's? I think grenades will be an important element in recreating the assault on the Fixed German 88 positions. Looking forward to this. >> I hope you have a good arm because you may not get close enough to toss grenades! ;D

I have seen them before and have been trying to talk a (relatively) local vendor into buying me a case for the MOA. Apart from their disposable nature, they look like they would be an awesome addition to big events. Hellmut was selling some of the fuse-lit baseball style grenades at Jump to Destiny last year, though I was not able to get my hands on any before they sold out. During the initial night fighting after the airborne landings, I had a GI toss one that blew only 5-6 away from from me. Good noise and the shock of an actual explosion, but they seemed perfectly safe to me on the receiving end. I did not feel any hits (took a death from proximity), but it might not have been a dried-pea filled model. The powder filled ones would not exactly be visible at night. As for US grenades, it was said earlier in the thread that they will be using the MOA rules, meaning dummy grenades are perfectly acceptable to clear built up positions or force displacement in the open.

Just remember to use common sense, the rule of thumb is they should not have enough weight to cause injury if struck by them. The U.S. forces will have satchel charges to take out the 105s

Attention, I'm sure as an event organizer and I have a business address that I would be able to get these grenades for both the U.S. Ball grenade, and the German stick grenades but they would need to be paid for in advance through paypal. Pm me with the number of grenades you would be interested in purchasing and we will see if there's enough with shipping the U.S. grenades would cost $5.75 each and the German grenades would cost $9.50 each just let me know

Would you require a minimum collective total for each as they only come in boxes of 20 and 40? According to the website, the pull ring baseball grenades are out of stock, so I assume Piper's US quote is for the fuse-lit ones

Hello everyone, I know the posts have been a little quiet the last couple of weeks but with the beautiful weather we've been having it's hard not to think about the upcoming season. And with that to get the excitement building again I have finished the first of 3 German 105 howitzers can't wait to see these out on the battle field. This one has and 8 foot long barrel and has fully adjustable outriggers so the barrel elevation can be adjusted. From the barrel tip to the ground it can be almost 7 feet high. Let's keep the excitement building this is going to be one of monumental event.

Rekkon - Or how about water balloons! I like them. I can add a camo net to my luggage to increase the immersion.

First of all welcome to the wonderful world of full immersion events most of your questions can be answered by carefully reading my first original post of the event we will be closely simulating a WWII atmosphere so a MRE is not historically correct if you wish to bring an MRE they must be kept out of sight and not eaten out on the battlefield you will be given a K ration, which is a historically correct meal for Saturday's launch there will also be a stew dinner served Friday evening but you must bring a mess tin with you these are very inexpensive and can be obtained at almost any army navy surplus store. Click on the link I have provided on my first post at the bottom of the page for an inexpensive tent that was made very closely to the original WWII style. Just bring what you need for an overnight stay in a tent like this. I would not waste my money on a pistol holster as very few regular G I's carried a pistol. I encourage you do your research about the standard equipment a regular GI would carry. Again if you read the first post carefully he will be very helpful in guiding you in your equipment. Thanks again signed piper PS just register as soon as possible so we can get our numbers straight

Question for Piper:
I have a friend that may be interested in one of the Medic positions but they have a few questions.
1) Can a medic be female. I realize this is period recreation and did not know if there were any female medics in the field during WWII. 2) Can medics be shot at. 3) Do medics carry weapons.
My wife may be interested in one of the villager positions.
1) What exactly does a villager do all day. 2) Where do villagers sleep at night 3) Is there an age limit for villagers (ie. can a 8 year old be there with their mother)

Medics canbe wounded just like a regular soldier the wound card system will apply to them as well. A medic during these events are kept very busy but I will allow them to participate in the fighting if they wish when they are not performing their medic duties. The position of villager is a role playing position their duties are to create the atmosphere of a German occupied village in the 1940s I will be sending each participant a letter of explanation a month before the event. Like I said in my first post in villager may sleep in the village or may have a tent set up in the modern camping area or has the option of sleeping in their car. I will consult with a field owner about allowing children to participate in this event there may be some insurance concerns I will get back with you on this. Thank you again signed piper

Rations? You mean we have to fill our own mess tins? Switching to the French side, at least they have baguettes
