Hey guys. I am new to WWII Airsoft and I was wondering if somebody could help me out on something. I have a spring M14 airsoft gun that I want to convert into a spring M1 Garand. Does anyone know how to do this? If so, please send me a list of parts needed and instructions. I bought the M14 from airsplat.com if that helps any. It is not the socom edition either. It has a long barrel. Thank you for your help.

You'll need the Forward and lower Garand Handguards a complete Garand gas assembly. Along with some assorted bits and pieces and to do it right a means to effectively reshape the lower stock. (The stock needs to be shortened and thickened through the mag well area.) Assorted resin pastes work well when reinforced with some set in screws but is time consuming and messy) The effort and expense of the entire project probably exceeds the end result which would be after all a cheap springer rifle that ultimately wouldn't be skirmishable. If you're going to go through the effort I'd highly recommend you use a Chinese clone AEG M14. That way you'll end up with a powerful semi automatic airsoft gun. There are many here who have taken on that project. (M14 AEG to Garand) Lots of threads that cover the steps.
Incidently it's good that you have the long barreled version as it will more easily accomodate the Garand peices.

Thanks for the help. I wanted to try the modifications on my springer before I tried it on an AEG. Sort of a trial one. Do you happen to know how to shorten the magazine as well? Much appreciated.

The is a clear thread on this here in the technical section with pictures and clear instructions however they may not work (in fact probasbly won't) in your springer M14. They do work great in the Marui style M14 conversions.

Look up M1 Garand parts which will no doubt take you to a variety of gun parts suplliers. You'll no doubt see a graphic that shows the complete Garand gas assembly which is the section up at the muzzle of the rifle. It includes the lower gas tube, the front site, the stacking swivel and the locking lug and front nut. This complete assembly slides over the barrel of the Garand. In your case the M14. The assembly typically costs around $65.00 when complete, plus shipping (sometimes, somewhat less and often far more) I have a molded complete assembly that looks correct and would probably be perfect for your application
I would sell one of these assemblies for $25.00 plus shipping. They are painted and should slide right on. (Certainly with a little filing as I don't know the demensions of the springer M14 barrel) I created molds for them along with molds of the handguards. They came out great, look very very good at a foot away and obviously are a much less expensive way to go with a good result.

I have pictures of the parts but have to get around to downloading on a hosting site and get them posted. I'm swamped right now catching up with some sold Garand orders for completed guns. If anyone wants direct pictures just PM me with your direct e-mail and I can send you some photos. Be clear about what you want pictures of however as I get lots of PMs and lots of inquiries. That's good of course but highly confusing for me.
