Streets of fire photos Just a few shots from Gunmans ‘streets of fire’ Battle for Caen event. It took place at the British Army’s SennyBridge FIBUA site which for those that don’t know it is a mock up eurpean village for doing urban warfare training in. Houses are connected by mouse holes, sewers and cellars and just getting from room to room can be exhausting and a full blown firefight! Some shots of the site: The German Command Post Village square One of the outlying buildings Vichy French scout around the church Josh leading the Germans mans a field gun Big UK takes aim Hallams advance! And Scaleyback is cut down! US troops take watch. Josh takes a hit while defending the church German troops reinforce the CP Boshman lines snipes the allies Nige snipes from an upper window An FJ lad rescues a wounded comrade The brits move in Scaleyback puts down harassing fire During a lull in the battle the Hallams catch up with news of the war!

Awesome! I wish i had the funds to cross the Atlantic and come to one of you guys' events, you always seem to have great ones. One question though, were the Americans at Caen? I know Patton wanted badly to go their and help but was ordered elsewhere, but were other Americans there at all?

There were americans there becasue its an expensive site and to make it worth doing the organisers had to take a few historical liberties to get folk in and make the best out of the opportunity to play on a site that is available to the public only once or twice a year.
Gunman WWII games are 'filmsim' in that they use a historical battle as background but allow a little leeway in the actual units present so we can have bigger events.

Ah, it was a genuine question btw, not me trying to be a smartass. I had thought it was just Brits and Canadians there but wasn't 100% on it.

Battle for Caen was £85 for friday night to sunday late afternoon. It included two social 'parties' in the barn area, two days battling and *free* 40s looking kit for those that did not have WWII uniforms.
While that may sound expensive there was a deafening ammount of pyro going on, purpose built props and loads to make it worht your while.
Sennybridge was built in the late 80s to replicate a german village typical of those in the sector Britain was supposed to hold and defend against the Russians.
Ironically once built the cold war ended about a year later.
