With the fantastic weather we have been having, I was finally motivated to finish building my third Bazooka. This one is by far the best looking one of the bunch, and performs pretty well too. Performance is based on what grenade you choose to power it (obviously) and I have found the Madbull PB4 to be an excellent nerf chucker.
I have not done much shooting, but I was easily able to blast my brothers passenger door at 140 feet using the second notch on the front sight, and aiming at the rear end of his car. I think that this comes from the sights being set to the left of the barrel, and also not being the most high tech aiming devices around, being a post and hole style sight. Still, very easy to hit a car sized object with, and after all, thats what this thing is designed to be fired at anyways.
There she is in all her OD glory!
I used Rustoleum paint and primer, I hope it will last a bit better than the Krylon does on my MKII. The wood is walnut stained Red Mahogany and left un-clearcoated
Rear sight and view of heat shield
Front sight and barrel details. The cut in the bottom of the outer barrel allows the inner barrel retention pin to slide in and turn up locking the inner barrel in place. It is an L shape and the barrel rocks into place if you use your first two fingers on the inside of the inner barrel and thumb on the pin to twist.
View of the stock and trigger, along with rear sight and heat shield. Shield is riveted in place and is raised about an 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch above the main tube body. It is a fairly comfortable cheek rest too.
And finally the rear loading basket, or whatever it is called. I am hoping to get a video of it firing sometime soon when I actually have someone to video tape it. Initial range test give me about 270-300 feet on propane and a PB4 grenade at ~70 degrees and a 30-40 degree angle.
