Does anyone have a reference or resource to partisans who fought for Germany but weren't in the Reich Armed Forces. I know there were groups on the Eastern front, and then the Volkssturm at the end of the war. But any other help would be great. Thanks.

I just looked the article trough and it seems it wasn't that efective.
But it stated that the Werwolfs were found when the war was still on. They were planned as "commando" force behind enemy lines.

There Werwolf movement never really got off the ground. For one it was mostly in the areas where the Americans and British were where the wasn't much opposition as there was against the Russians. The Volksturm was an actual military force with rank structure and whatnot, not really considered partisans as they were formed to be a frontline force whereas partisans are not,it was really suicide for any partisan force to go face to face with a trained military, There were exceptions when they were well led like Titos forces in the former Yugoslavia. But on the whole partisans contented themselves with hit and run and behind the lines actions.

Fusilier is right. I think by 1945 the Germans were tired of war and by then had figured out Hitler wasn't the cat's meow.

Thanks for the info guys. Do you think wearing a German tunic with insignia removed would be acceptable? I've seen a few pictures of anti communist/pro German partisans wearing the m36 and m40 tunics. But many also wore civilian clothes with equipment and clothing from any dead soldier they found from any faction. If this is incorrect or the tunic would not be a good idea, please add to the thread.
